Martingale's Quirky Question

Thanks for stopping by for the weekly Quirky Question—where questions are just for fun, your answers are always welcome, and you could win an eBook for free!

A Pack of PosiesRight: “A Pack of Posies” from Bloom Creek Quilts by Vicki Bellino. Save 40% on the book this week (see a slideshow of projects from the book below).

If you’re a fabric fanatic, you understand all the reasons why (we understand, too). But when family and friends see the stash you’ve amassed, they may not appreciate why you love your fabric so. Consider what loved ones might think about your love of fabric by answering this week’s question:

If your family and friends had to describe you and your relationship to fabric, what would they say?

Post your answer in the comments before noon (PST) on Monday, July 29, for your chance to win. The winning answer will be posted on Wednesday, July 31, along with the next question. (Knitters, crocheters, and other crafters, answer with your own medium in mind!)

Last week’s Quirky Question was, “If you were asked to write a quilt book, what would your topic of choice be?” Here’s the winning comment, written by Judy:

“I began quilting during the US bicentennial year, 1976, making a very traditional Dresden plate with cereal box templates, scissors, and limited fabric choices or information on how to quilt. Through the years as more and more books and tools became available, I discovered I loved trying the new gadgets and techniques that made cutting, stitching, marking, and quilting more precise. Several years ago my friend bought a quilt store and asked if I would like to be her Gadget Guru. I have the pleasure of seeking out new tools of the trade and demonstrating them to her customers. I also do lectures, sharing and showing what I have learned. If I were to write a book, it would be about the many tools and helpful hints available to novice, intermediate, and expert quilters. It is wonderful to try something new and say ‘Now, why didn’t I think of that?’ Not only do I save time, have less waste, and enjoy the process more, but I can make even more quilts. That’s what makes me happy.”

Congratulations, Judy—look for an email about your free eBook.
