Thanks to all who entered the drawing! The winner is Janet, who says:
“Yardage definitely! I can’t help myself when I see material that I just have to have.”
Janet, we’ll email you about your prize. Congratulations!
Oh my goodness, I have lots of charm packs that need to be put into quilts, runners, etc. I keep buying because I love the lines of fabrics then I just put them into a box and just look at them.
—Patricia D. Roberts on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage. I am pulling fabrics and making charity pillowcases…past 100 right now.
—Arlene on July 16, 2015Precuts. Oh Yeah! What was I thinking when I started this collection? I have two tubs of fat quarters and random pieces in drawers and what the heck am I doing with it all???
—Adeline on July 16, 2015My stash of fabrics which are all not related in any way at all are harder to use up than pre-cuts so need to be thinned. Holiday Blooms looks like a lovely line of fabric. Thank you.
—Diane H on July 16, 2015Yardage definitely–was gifted someone’s stash and the challenge is to get through it! But it’s fun!
—Lill Helming on July 16, 2015I need to thin out my precuts. I just love Fat quarters because you get such variety without breaking the bank. Especially if you are a fabri-holic! But I would enjoy getting more precuts.
—Ann Busey on July 16, 2015I think I need to work at thinning my yardage. I’ve a large amount of fabric in 3+yd pieces. I need to find patterns that will use these large yardages without diminishing the beauty of the fabric designs. Secondly I need to work on using up the novelty fabrics I’ve collected. Many of the current BOM’s and such are scrappy and not suited to these novelty prints. Need to go back into my stash of books and magazines and plot a course to use what I have. I’ve already reached the point where my stash may outlive me.
—Pam in AZ on July 16, 2015I would have to say my precuts need thinning the most. I tend to avoid using them just because they are packaged so pretty. . .I have a hard time unwrapping them!
—Jane Newman on July 16, 2015I’ve been busy making scrappy quilts for the last 2 months in attempts to thinning my stash…I should probably start making some Christmas items…I love the quilts in today’s email!
—Kelly Wenhold on July 16, 2015I need to thin out my pre-cuts (or learn to control my impulse fabric buying!)
—Brenda on July 16, 2015I would be so happy to start my holiday sewing in these dog-days of summer sizzle! My stash could use thinning in the yardage area. I don’t buy too many precuts without using them up quickly. It’s those sale items of yardage or remnants that I buy up "for a rainy day" that need attention!
—Kathy E. on July 16, 2015My yardage definitely needs thinning. I was shocked at how much fabric I have when we moved. So much fabric, so little time!
—Jocelyn on July 16, 2015In my stash there’s definitely need to thin out the yardage; I have limited amounts of precuts.
—Anita on July 16, 2015Yardage wins in my collection, not that I don’t have a whole bunch of precuts as well! All I need is time — do you know where I can buy some? Love all the ideas in the books and the Christmas fabric as well, which my fabric collection is sorely lacking. Can never seem to find just the right Christmas materials to go together.
—kraftykc on July 16, 2015I REALLY NEED TO THIN MY FABRIC. I HAVE IDEAS, GET THE FABRIC BUT FIND MYSELF NOT NEEDING A LOT OF IT.
—BAJORDAN on July 16, 2015I definitely have some serious clearing needed in my yardage – ironically in the Christmas category 🙂
—Stephanie S. on July 16, 2015Just love the Holiday Blooms line!
Thank you!
The yardage for sure needs thinning! Earlier this year while the weather was still bad I spent nearly a week going through what I have and measuring and labeling too! I have such odd pieces of Christmas fabric that I don’t know what to do with. Some play nicely and others I have left me wondering "why did I buy them?". But I sure would love to get my hands on some newer Christmas fabric and play! It’s an addiction for sure. 😉
—Karen DH on July 16, 2015Definitely my yardage needs the thinning badly.
—Kris Walter on July 16, 2015Humm, when my husband and I travelled around the country, I knew I couldn’t buy yards of fabric from every store, so I collected fat quarters. I have made 32 state star blocks so far, but that hasn’t touched the number of FQ"s I still have. Many are specific to the part of the country we were visiting, so I’d have to say that those are the fabrics that I need to use up. It is fun to have them to spark ideas though!!
—Linda Voltz on July 16, 2015Definitely pre-cuts. Have some that are 10 years old. Need to do something with them.
—Linda F. on July 16, 2015No doubt…it’s yardage, although the precuts are a close second. I just began dealing with them in the year. What a time saver!! Now when I begin a project, I like to think of what pre cuts will go with certain yardages and it does help me purge the stash just that much quicker. I believe the Christmas is Coming is the book I’d be most interested in.
—debra lee on July 16, 2015Yardage, for sure, needs thinning. I would love to have more precuts. Instead, I make my own when needed.
—Janey on July 16, 2015I need more time to sew. Both my yardage & precuts need to be thinned.
—Kathy on July 16, 2015Definitely my yardage!
—Nancy Lanier on July 16, 2015Yardage by far. I have rarely bought precuts.
—Kris on July 16, 2015My yardage stash definitely needs thinning!!! Every time I am in a quilt store, I buy fabric just because I like it and want it….not because I need it! As a result, my yardage stash is quite large. I need to start using it for gifts so I don’t become a hoarder!! LOL
—Barbara Bettencourt on July 16, 2015What a beautiful package! What a wonderful way to get started on Christmas gifts, winning this drawing would be over the moon! Thanks for the opportunity!
—Patsy on July 16, 2015Precuts, definitely! I’ve only been quilting a couple of years, and most of what I have is precuts.
—Karen on July 16, 2015The flying geese topper would be perfect for all my Holiday , and co-ordinating pre cuts !
—cathie on July 16, 2015It would have to be yardage. That is what I buy and I cut my own "precuts". Saves money, takes more time but I love the cutting process.
—Julie Craven on July 16, 2015I probably have more yardages that I would like to use up. But I also have lots of precuts, especially fat quarters.
—Velva Hoyt on July 16, 2015i would have to say my yardage is in need of thinning. I have a piece that I drag with me to match and bring it home along with a totally different collection. I think I will start busting my large pieces by making pillowcases for charity.
—Linda Vandell on July 16, 2015I have been making Fall and Christmas table runners for gifts. Would love to have this great gift of Christmas fabric to add to my collection!
—Phyllis Malone on July 16, 2015Oh I have sew much yardage. Need some simple, easy patterns to use it all! Oh, but I can always add more! Holiday Blooms would be an awesome added addition!!
—R. Kromer on July 16, 2015Precuts could be thinned, not much yardage. Unable to add this to previous comment.
—Patsy on July 16, 2015Is that a trick question?? I suppose precuts, I buy them because they are so darn beautiful, I can’t resist and then I go searching for a pattern tu use them.
—Marlene Clausen on July 16, 2015My Fat Quarters in Christmas fabric needs thinning. I love Christmas Fat Quarters!
—Linda Emerson on July 16, 2015I need to thin out yardage….really need to thin out a lot!
—Kathy Franklin on July 16, 2015PRECUTS! I find myself drawn to the beautiful patterns and colors in a designers line, and I love buying them – with or without a definite plan to actually use them!
—Kathy Hoback on July 16, 2015My fat quarters thinning. I love them and can not pass them up when I go in a quilt shop, especially when they are on sale.
—Betty Steffen on July 16, 2015I’ve large pieces of Christmas fabric ( what shall I do with those?), no yardage, and 3 little pieces of pre-cuts left from last year. I’m sure I could use more! As the sign says, "To quilt or not to quilt? What a silly question!"
—Gail G on July 16, 2015My pre-cut stash needs to be decreased. Years ago, I bought holiday fabric and made gift bags out of them to hold presents. I used them for various family members. I hoped that they would be used to hold gifts for other people in the future. The ones I gave to my daughter’s family weren’t used in later holidays. She thought the bags were too pretty to give away, so they sat in a box in her closet. Several years ago, I asked her if I could have them back. Yes! So I immediately took the seams out of them. Now I have these lovely pieces of holiday fabric…lots of pieces!!
—Catherine on July 16, 2015Yardage…….absolutely!!
—Karen on July 16, 2015yardage for sure – but precuts are my favorite to work with
—Kathy Luehrs on July 16, 2015My yardage needs thinning. I have so much that haven’t matched with other fabric for projects.
—Pat B on July 16, 2015Fat quarters! Fat quarters! Fat quarters! I see them, I love them, I buy them so I am always looking for patterns that are fat quarter friendly.
—Diane Osborne on July 16, 2015My yardage definitely needs thinning, even after using a lot of it for charity quilts.
—Carolyn on July 16, 2015I have much more yardage than precuts. I’m just getting started on Christmas projects, so I could always use more!!!
—Gwen on July 16, 2015I have a bunch of very special scraps that my Mom brought home when she worked at a factory making doll clothes. I have had them since I was a teenager and would love to use a few in a quilt with some new fabric. The Holiday Bundles by Marcus would match perfectly and they are beautiful.
—ann deery on July 16, 2015I don’t have a big stash so don’t need any thinning!! Extra fabric is always welcome, thanks for the chance.
—Sunnybec on July 16, 2015Definitely my yardage! I can’t seem to resist buying fabric on sale. Such inspiring Christmas quilts, thanks for the give away.
—Dianne on July 16, 2015I have made a lot of quilts as Christmas gifts but have never gotten around to making Christmas quilts to decorate my own home. I am short on Christmas themed fabrics, and I also need more blenders. I have LOTS of bright colors!
—GloryBee on July 16, 2015My yardage needs thinning. I see a fabric line that I love and can’t resist purchases even if I don’t have a plan for it.
—Kay on July 16, 2015Fat quarters I have in abundance. I have a hard time resisting a fabric that I love so a fat quarter is my little take-home treat.
—Leslie Benoy on July 16, 2015My yardage needs thinning. I make a lot of charity quilts and quilts for friends and family, but it seems the stash never goes down. We have decided that fabric left in the dark multiplies at night. You put 2 pieces of fabric on a shelf and the next morning there is 3 or 4, don’t know what happens. I love the fabric in the bundle and I think the book would really help me lower the stash.
—connie b on July 16, 2015Definitely precuts! I can’t seem to pass them up. All the coordinating is done for you!
—Diana Hengesbach on July 16, 2015Both! I love precuts but have a hard time using them because they’re just so darn pretty just the way they are. I also have a lot of yardage purchased on sale that I’m going through. I’m saving a half yard of each one and donating the rest. Not much Christmas fabric though.
—Nancy McFall on July 16, 2015Yardage, for sure – my sewing room shelves rival some fabric shops!
—Margaret Lawrence on July 16, 2015Definitely precuts! I am drawn to them, and I love having a bit of all the fabrics in a line. It seems when I want to make something I always go buy more to use, instead of using what I have. This makes no sense, even to me!
—Mary on July 16, 2015By far, yardage! While working out of town a few years ago. after work I would go to fabric stores in the area that were open in the evening. Boy did I get in trouble! But I am not complaining; you can never have enough fabric!!! I refer to it as my "retirement account".
—Janet T on July 16, 2015Thinning?! Isn’t that sacrilege? LOL
—Monica de Moss on July 16, 2015Hmm, I think it is even between yardage and precuts.
—Sandra on July 16, 2015I don’t have many precuts at all, so I guess yardage 🙂
—Rebecca Schmitt on July 16, 2015I definitely need to use up my yardage. These are some great ideas.
—Sue L on July 16, 2015Fat quarters, no charms, no jelly rolls, no yardage – oh, I don’t know, my stash is huge – I have no control when I see any kind of new fabric. I’m a collector!
—D. L. Grzybowski on July 16, 2015My fat quarters definitely need to be thinned. It is hard sometimes to cut into them when you only need a couple of small squares!
—Maureen Haynes on July 16, 2015Yardage is my nemesis but I can always use more!
—Jean on July 16, 2015I have more yardage than precuts.
—Barbie on July 16, 2015I have yardage that needs thinning bad. I have trouble choosing fabrics that go together.
—Vicki H on July 16, 2015If I had to thin it would be my yardage, I cannot resist fabric. I Love Fabric, I look at it then I cut it and I am sad when its gone. I think I am a true fabricholic.
—Vivian Bernsen on July 16, 2015HELLO, new quilter here>no thinning out needed! Thanks for sharing Beautiful Projects+a giveaway!
—LINDA on July 16, 2015I wish I could say yardage but I basically just have fat quarters that need to go
—Betsy on July 16, 2015I have so much yardage it’s embarrassing! I used to be part owner of
—Linda Losinski on July 16, 2015a fabric store, so buying at cost is too tempting! Plus there are so many new beautiful fabrics out there I can’t resist. I need to make some big quilts to use up some of the stash!
precuts I need to stay away from that bin at my store. Just love the colors however!
—Lana Bell on July 16, 2015I keep buying yardage, precuts and such and keep looking at them and have them all over the place and tell myself that I will never have enough of 2 lifetime to use them all.
—Nathalie Brault on July 16, 2015thanks for the giveaway.
Very little yardage, a few yard cuts, a few pre-cuts, but mostly my stash is remnants! I plan to use Bonnie Hunter’s stash system and cut that 60-gallon bin of remnants into usable sizes. I have a few holiday remnants, my daughters and I do quilted and cross-stitched stockings for all new members of our extended family, so Christmas fabrics are welcome (new niece born in June!) plus my son is newly engaged and I want to start on their first Christmas — I envision two quilts, one for all the time, and one for Christmas, and maybe a baby quilt (I can dream!)
—Sharon Schipper on July 16, 2015Has to be my yardage, especially my Christmas fabrics. I have a weakness for the holiday (year round!)
—Susi on July 16, 2015Neither – I only have a small stash so adding to it would be awesome
—Gayla Lynch on July 16, 2015My green yardage AND my green scrap drawer is over flowing. I’m inspired to make a project from your blog today. Thanks for the inspiration and for the give away!
—Terry on July 16, 2015Очень люблю рождественские ткани прекат.
Translation:
—Margarita on July 16, 2015Love Christmas fabric precut.
That’s easy. My yardage, but not so much Christmas fabric.
—Lillian on July 16, 2015I have way more yardage than precuts, but both are in dire need of being used.
—Suzanprincess on July 16, 2015While not exactly "needing thinning" I do have some holiday precuts that need to find a home in a project. I’m sure I could find something in these books!
—Carol Vickers on July 16, 2015I need to reduce my yardage of old prints. I cleaned up my sewing room yesterday qnd realuzed that I will be making some dharity quilts! Thanks for offering a giveaway of new fabrics.
—Claudia Olson on July 16, 2015I have more fat quarters than yardage.
—betty nelson on July 16, 2015Precuts & scraps need thinning in my sewing room! My problem is that I don’t seem to have yardage that matches the precuts & scraps for backgrounds & borders!
—Debra Reber on July 16, 2015I don’t have a lot of yardage, so any thinning I need to do is with fat quarters.
—Sandy K on July 16, 2015My scrap stash has gone wild. I want a few extra hours each day to work on the fun scrap projects I have in mind. but scraps seem to be like " the loaves and fishes" . I always have more than I started with!
—Kathy G on July 16, 2015Yardage. I usually buy yardage so I’ll have plenty of fabric should I run across a pattern I fall in love with.
—Cheryl Buchanan on July 16, 2015I have only been adding to a stash for less than a year. I am welcoming additions to my stash.
—Dot on July 16, 2015My biggest thing that needs to be thinned is my scraps! lol I have a lot of quilts waiting to be made from scraps because they are overflowing. Other than that I think my yardage could be trimmed. It is hard to trim though since I absolutely love fabric. (Like all of us quilters do) Good luck everyone!
—Annette on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage. I’m better now but there was a time when I could not resist a fabric that caught my eye. Although I don’t have a lot of pre-cuts, they could really use some organizing so I know what it have.
—Carol Gearey on July 16, 2015I think it’s the precuts. I’ve been using them up as fast as I can by making quilts out of pre cuts only but it seems they are forever growing.
—Rina on July 16, 2015Oh my, I need to thin it all–have FQ, jellys, layer cakes, charms, mini charms and yardage all over the place. I think I have enough fabric for 4 or 5 lifetimes! Anyway to use these up is a blessing!
—Sally on July 16, 2015My yardage – I have a bin for each color -but some are just outdated and ugly and not fabric suitable for quilting. Once I get the upstairs closets sorted – then comes the sewing room! Hate to spend valuable sewing time on sorting – but it needs to be done! The Holiday bundles are beautiful!! Time to start thinking about Christmas gifts.!
—Nancy C on July 16, 2015Yardage.
—Dixie on July 16, 2015My stash is out of control. I have fat quarters and yardage I need to tame.
—Shawna on July 16, 2015Precuts need thinning. I hoard jelly rolls like crack cocaine.
—Gail on July 16, 2015Definitely pre-cuts. Started building my stash but somehow it multiplied and I must work on this. With 12 grandchildren, I think I should start now and gift them all a new quilt for Christmas.
—Catherine on July 16, 2015Yardage. What I have isn’t appropriate to cut into smaller pieces and wouldn’t look good in a scrappy quilt. I’ll probably make some donation projects with my stash.
—Jean on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage! Love the suggestion in the comments to cutting your own precuts with it…
—Jean on July 16, 2015These fabrics are lovely and hopefully would inspire some holiday sewing before December 1!
Way too many precuts in my stash — I need to use them up making gifts! Thanks for the chance to win!
—Snoodles on July 16, 2015I don’t purchase precuts. I have way too much yardage. Love scrap quilts and projects.
—Judy on July 16, 2015I have an eclectic modest stash – some yardage, some precuts – all from various sources – all is needing thinning out!
—Linda Fleming on July 16, 2015I have already start my Christmas gift for this year and hopefully will get some more ideas soon. sewpatsy1@comcast.net
—Patsy Pirnat on July 16, 2015I have yard and yards of Christmas fabric! I can’t resist when it goes on sale after Christmas. For my family and friends I make door hangers, table runners, wall hangings, small quilts, large quilts, stockings, mug rugs, drawstring bags, and sew on and sew on! I love it and I can use MORE!
—Sara Byman on July 16, 2015I don’t have any precuts, so it has to be yardage I should be using up. What a great giveaway.
—Kathy L on July 16, 2015I need to build up my stash! Thanks for the chance to win!
—Marianne L on July 16, 2015My yardage! I love fabrics! I love buy fabrics….
—Mania on July 16, 2015Both yardage and precuts need reducing in my stash. However, reducing my UFO’s is my main focus at present.
—Marilynn on July 16, 2015Yardage is my weakness. After all "more" is a good thing.
—Joyce on July 16, 2015Planning a wall hanging that will include hand embroidery.
—Joyce parkert on July 16, 2015Flannel scraps need thinning. Would love to win this Christmas fabric!
—Mona on July 16, 2015I too have more yardage, but I hate to thin it because that discard might be the perfect piece for an unplanned future project.
—Sue White on July 16, 2015Precuts for sure. I only buy yardage for specific projects.
—gab on July 16, 2015My yardage stash needs thinning–I wish I had more precuts–I love using them. But I have enough reds and greens to make some stunning quilts for gifts this season.
—CJ Hines on July 16, 2015I easily have over 1,000 yards of fabric on mini boards, in project bins and on shop bolts! They line several book cases, fill a double closet and run along one wall in my sewing room! Overflow goes into two Moda laundry baskets and an antique armoire! There are plenty of pre-cuts mixed in too! I love fabric and I don’t think I need to thin out my stash. I’m happy to have such a large amount to choose from for any project!
—Jackie on July 16, 2015I am a sucker for precuts, especially those fat quarter bundles tied with a ribbon! Help!
—Diane on July 16, 2015My yardage needs thinning badly! This is an awesome giveaway and thanks for the opportunity to win it!
—susan on July 16, 2015My stash from every category needs thinning but I do have a "bit of Overload of Christmas" that is hoping to be worked into some gifts for the holidays. Although, those ‘Christmas Blooms’ would work nicely in the plan. I appreciate seeing holiday suggestions and books, it is time to get started to avoid that harried rush………
—Betty on July 16, 2015I have more precuts than yardage. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
—Kathleen on July 16, 2015PRECUTS! I have too many and not much yardage to go with them!!
—TerriK on July 16, 2015I have bought very few precuts. Have lots of yardage. So my yardage needs "thinning"
—Terry L. Amato on July 16, 2015I have developed more scraps than yardage or pre-cuts at this point. The Christmas bundle is gorgeous!! Love the colors and prints included. Can see all kinds of possibilities for gorgeous table runners as gifts.
—Kate on July 16, 2015Unfortunately I have mass quantities of both yardage and precut (with the precuts I hope to piece more quickly, the yardage come about when I see things that work in so many different ways!). I really need ideas to use all the accumulated fabric (all sorts of fabric!).
—Karen on July 16, 2015My precuts need to be thinned…so many pretty fabrics that need a purpose!
—Ali on July 16, 2015I seem to have too much yardage. I am starting to use it for backings of my quilts. Trying to use up my many scraps and not buy anything new!!
—Rose on July 16, 2015I have lots of charms that need to be put into a quilt. But the yardage is closing in fast, too!
—Pamela on July 16, 2015My yardage needs to be thinned out! I have two built-in cabinets, floor to ceiling with pull out drawers that are filled, a trunk filled, and ten ex-large storage bins filled. What can I say…………….I love material! If I see something I like, I have to have it, knowing that someday I will use it…………… 🙂
—Sandi on July 16, 2015UFOs and fat quarters are out of control.
—marlene on July 16, 2015My precuts need thinning or to be used for the items they were purchased to make. Guess I’m just a "fabric hoarder" but it is so much fun. Thanks for this great giveaway!
—Nancy B on July 16, 2015Fat quarter bundles, for sure…..so many projects!!!!!
—Rosemarie on July 16, 2015Definitely need to use more of my yardage stash! I have favorite colors I still seem to add in FQs, and always need background fabric I’m concentrating now on making scrap quilts. :o)
—Melanie on July 16, 2015I have a pile of fat quarters that are left over from years of projects – the extra ones. need to gt them into something scrappy
—lavonne on July 16, 2015I have lots of yardage. Precuts, not so much.
—Mary C on July 16, 2015pre-cuts — really.. I have to stop buying them.. very pretty and love the pre-coordinated, but to me pre-cuts are just not practical
—Debbie D on July 16, 2015I have sooo many scraps of both sometimes I don’t know where to start. I inherited a lot from my mother and mother-in-law when they went to the quilt store in the heavens.
—Myra Sattler on July 16, 2015I’m still a beginner and my stash is not too large (yet). I do have several jelly rolls that I got as retirement gifts. So I would choose precuts.
—Collette Morton on July 16, 2015I love to make Christmas gifts and items to decorate my home. Beautiful choice of fabrics.
—Patricia Gaiefsky on July 16, 2015Well I must admit it seems to be both. I’m always buying fabric when it is on sale and when beautiful pre-cuts come around, oh my I just can’t resist. I must admit I am favored to the pre-cuts and alas ‘so much fabric so little time’
—jo cain on July 16, 2015Trabajos preciosos para la navidad
las telas fantasticas
Translation: Precious jobs for Christmas
fantastic fabrics
—Belarmina Antuña on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage..I see scrappy quilts in the future..thank you…marta
—marta on July 16, 2015I have more yardage for sure- just waiting for the right projects to slice and dice them, which is sometimes hard to do!
—carol on July 16, 2015I am a total sucker for precuts, especially jelly rolls. I’ve never asked my favorite quilt shop if they would cut 2 1/2 inch strips from 40 different fabrics because I don’t want to be banned from the shop:)
—Sharon Kaminski on July 16, 2015I have way more precuts than yardage so, my precuts, especially fat quarters, need some thinning. Thanks for another great giveaway 🙂
—Dawn Hollingsworth on July 16, 2015My yardage needs to be thinned out but some are so pretty, I hate to cut into them. Thus, the stash builds. Thanks for the opportunity to win this fabric.
—Sharron on July 16, 2015Yardage! It’s been accumulating for many more years than the precuts.
—Karen on July 16, 2015I have a LARGE number of precuts that need to become quilts!
—Pat V. on July 16, 2015my precuts….keep saying I am not buying anymore but then see some I love !
—Nancy Fournier on July 16, 2015I don’t have very many precuts so it would have to be the yardage. Thanks for the chance on your wonderful giveaway!
—Jill of Apple Avenue Quilts on July 16, 2015Precuts are so fun to purchase, and I definitely have quite the collection. Who can pass by a charm pack that has such an array of colors, all that will look spectacular together! Hope to win this gorgeous Christmas collection and make some candle mats for gifts!
—Dawn Vereeke on July 16, 2015Definitely the yardage! A lot of my stash was acquired before pre-cuts became popular, so I have yards of fabric that I need to cut into.
—Nancy N on July 16, 2015The pre-cuts. I just love them too much.
—Trena J on July 16, 2015I need to thin all my fabric. I have a lot of small pieces…hate to get rid of them, I may need that piece? LOL
—pauline on July 16, 2015Do fat quarters fall in the "pre-cut" category? If not, everything in my stash needs to be reduced. I haven’t been very productive in the last couple of years.
—Whiskers on July 16, 2015Boy, I have a lot of both, but the yardage takes up more room. I need to get busy!!
—Karen A on July 16, 2015FQs are my weakness. I have 3 shelves-worth of plastic shoebox bins filled with FQs – sorted by theme and color. Three bins are holiday fabrics, but I always love to add more. This bundle looks lovely.
—Mona on July 16, 2015My partially used precut bundles need to be sorted by color. Thanks for the chance to win Christmas fabric!
—Debbie Holley on July 16, 2015I only have a few pre-cuts so I would have to say yardage is what needs to be planned into projects. I have been drooling over this book for some time 🙂 I would love to win it! Thank you for the sweet and inspiring giveaway!
—Loris Mills on July 16, 2015Fat quarters are my weakness with a splash of precuts. I love fat quarters that are on sale. I really should start matching my precuts with my fat quarters.
—Diana Salmon on July 16, 2015My yardage stash is getting out of hand. Need some new ideas.
—Brenda Brooks on July 16, 2015Yardage. Always buy enough for whatever it is i could ever need it for.
—amanda on July 16, 2015I have too much of everything, but especially yardage!!
—Dottie on July 16, 2015Yardage needs thinned and made into precuts!
—Carole D on July 16, 2015I need to reduce my pre-cuts. For some reason I never buy yardage of Christmas prints. I’d love to get this bundle to kickstart my Christmas sewing.
—Sherry Jurykovsky on July 16, 2015My yardage needs to be thinned out. Now I’m looking at a sewing room full of fabric I purchased up to 20 years ago. Now I’m thinking…"what was I thinking?"
—Kathy on July 16, 2015I have a large collection of precuts which greatly needs to be thinned out as running out of room
—Anne on July 16, 2015Yardage is what I need to work on reducing. I have lots that I have been collecting throughout the years to make quilts.
—Nancy Harvey on July 16, 2015I have too much of both. I can usually pull from my stash just about any combination of fabrics to make a project. This is wonderful especially late at night when I get the urge to start something new. The holiday fabrics are beautiful!
—Marge P on July 16, 2015Both yardage and pre-cuts need some serious thinning, my stash over- floweth. Need some new easy patterns to use it up!
—Karen Johnson on July 16, 2015Definitely my problem is collecting precuts. I love fat quarters, jelly rolls and layer cakes!! BUT I don’t have Christmas fabric, so….this would be a wonderful giveaway for me to win. Thanks for the opportunity!!
—Carlene on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage. I hardly have any precuts.
—Cynthia on July 16, 2015Ooooh…neeeed to this out my Yardage Stash for sure! lol
—Lori Morton on July 16, 2015I don’t actually have any holiday fabric!!! I do however, have loads of other fabric – mostly fat quarters. I would love to do some holiday sewing especially Kim Diehl.
—Mandy Adams on July 16, 2015Yardage. If I buy precuts, it is usually for a planned creation. I was given many cuts of dark green fabrics. I have used some of it to make one quilt but I think that Christmas table runners like the one you show is a good idea. I would love some new Christmas fabrics since what I have is pretty old.
—Ruth on July 16, 2015Definitely precuts and I’ve been working on Christmas and birthday gifts to use them up.
—Terry on July 16, 2015Thank you for all the great Christmas ideas. I definitly have more yardage stash than precuts. Thank you also for the opportunity to win.
—Jackie Lewis on July 16, 2015Hard to say…I have a great stash of yardage but I am trying to cut down by purchasing precuts to use up my yardage. (A good theory but not sure if a good practice!)
—Bette C. on July 16, 2015I guess if you consider fat quarters as pre cuts, then I have a numerous amount of fat quarters in my stash. But that’s the fun of it.
—Debra on July 16, 2015Well, "thinning" is a scarey word! I don’t buy a lot of precuts, so I guess it would have to be yardage if I could bring myself to do it!
—Susan K. on July 16, 2015I have several yards each of fabric I bought to make aprons. They are all pairs of coordinates but the pairs don’t go with each other. I also have a lot of fashion fabric, some day I will make clothes that fit well. Those to projects have been set aside.
—susan on July 16, 2015I hate to buy a lot of new fabric so I just buy fat quarters. I need a new idea for my old stash!
These would go a long way on neat Christmas projects. So pretty….
—VFitz on July 16, 2015Precuts. I have so many of these, what was I thinking of?
—Teresa on July 16, 2015Yardage. Definitely. Although I have so much that all of it could use thinning out. LOL.
—Marilyn Rose on July 16, 2015My husband says both! I believe my yardage and scraps need more work! Trouble is the yardage is mostly purchased for specific things so I just better get working on the ufo’s!!!! LOL Great fabrics and great books and authors.
—Tonie Peterson on July 16, 2015Yardage.
—Lee Trankler on July 16, 2015Mine is the yardage. The precuts are eye candy in my sewing room. I am currently using up scraps so I can get my stash down to a minimum. Thank you for the giveaway.
—Janie on July 16, 2015Probably scraps but as an art quilter, they are like my ‘crayons’ or ‘paints’…hard to part with because you might need that piece just in case! Not hoarding—just collecting.
—Marlene on July 16, 2015I tend to collect fat quarters and pieces a yard or less. Plus there are lots of smaller bits to use. And it just seems to multiply!
—Pat on July 16, 2015My stash of yardage certainly needs thinning. I love precuts and fat quarters, so I tend to use more of them. The yardage has been making it’s way into borders and backings.
—Judy Beebe on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage. Every so often I strip yardage to make my own "jelly rolls" and other patches…Just love to make scrap quilts.
—Karen Keeler on July 16, 2015Moving soon, and need a fresh start. I desperately need to build a fat a quarter stash. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
—Alice Hilton on July 16, 2015Christmas is coming!
—Kim Sysa on July 16, 2015So many gifts to make,
Time to start now!
More fabric is always better,
New fat quarters would make some lovely gifts.
I can’t resist fat quarters and I have many that I need to put to good use in a table runner, quilt for over the end of our bed or just make gifts for others….I need to get with the program:):)
—Barbara Dolan on July 16, 2015My precuts need thinning. Mostly charm packs but layer cakes also?!
—Penny on July 16, 2015My yardage stash needs the most thinning. My husband said I have enough to open my own fabric shop!
—Ann on July 16, 2015Guess that would be my yardage that could use some trimming. Lovely Christmas projects.
—Estie on July 16, 2015Which part of my stash needs thinning? I would say in Christmas fabric my yardage does. I have very few Christmas precuts, and would love to win some. I am 80 years old, and would like to make a lovely Christmas quilt before I am gone.
—Margie Lou Hall on July 16, 2015precuts from my many years of sewing and cutting leftovers as I go…need to buy yardage for backing my scrappy quilts
—LMJF on July 16, 2015I now have a lot of precuts. I need time to start using them! I probably need to make a list of precuts I own and put pattern names I want to use with them.
—Rachell R on July 16, 2015Speaking of Christmas, I want to make a Christmas Tree quilt with charms made into HST.
reillyr2(at)hotmail(dot)com
I am really working on reducing my stash of yardage. What an outstanding give away opportunity! Thanks.
—Barb on July 16, 2015Waaay too much 1 to 3 yd lengths of focal prints that I don’t have coordinating prints &/or blenders on hand to work with into projects! And of course I would love to win the Poinsetta bundle as I’m one of those that decorate with them from Thanksgiving thru the end of February then use the greenery to fill in spring patio planters until in full bloom.
—Melody Colecchi on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage……..
—Pam on July 16, 2015I have more yardage than precuts. I need to get more precuts!
—Linda Cartwright on July 16, 2015Precuts !! I can not resist a jelly roll or charm pack
—Vicki Kellogg on July 16, 2015Vicki
You ask which needs thinning, my yardage or precuts….. Both are quite substantial. I have been blessed by yardage from family and friends and my own uncontrollable shopping at times. Lately precuts have been my choice of collecting fabrics I just have to have. I do have plans for many of them. Thanks for the ideas you pass on to us all.
—Robin on July 16, 2015Yardage. I buy more yardage more often than precuts. When I do buy precuts, I seem to use them sooner.
—Theresa on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage. I have bought several yards of different fabrics that I really liked at the time but have not used them in a quilt yet. I still like them but have not found the "right quilt home" for them yet!!
—Diane on July 16, 2015THINNING? Why would I want to thin my stash? If that was the case I’d never need to shop again!!!! Ha, Ha, Ha!
—Janet Sue on July 16, 2015Yardage definitely. I could really use ‘Tis the season’ to thin out my stash.
—Bridget on July 16, 2015Definitely precuts, I have tons of them laying around.
—Kristine R. on July 16, 2015The precuts need thinning. I don’t buy a lot of yardage except for sashing and backing.
—Laura on July 16, 2015Yardage! But I only buy what I love so it is hard to get rid of it until I find the perfect project!
—Bev on July 16, 2015My yardage stash needs more thinning than my precut stash. I tend to use my precuts more quickly than that yardage I just couldn’t live without. Also once the precut is used there is still leftovers of the yardage bought for borders etc. and who buys exactly the amount of yardage needed? Definitely not me. Thanks for offering this giveaway.
—Audrey on July 16, 2015Yardage is what I pull from for a scrappy project. I am a pre-washer and still prefer to purchase yardage.
—Mary Dahlberg on July 16, 2015Diffinitly yardage. But I love it!
—Doris McCarty on July 16, 2015I have very few precuts, but yardage and FQs are my downfall. I so need to thin out my stash, but I’m afraid of getting rid of that "perfect" fabric that I know is in there somewhere.
—Sandy W. on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage! I have more than I can use in my lifetime! Cheers!
—Karen Stocking on July 16, 2015Precuts, mostly fat quarters.
—Shanna Crabbe on July 16, 2015Yardage! But I am slowly working on it!!
—Rebecca on July 16, 2015I do have extra yardages but for the most part it gets used eventually. What I don’t use or don’t think I’ll use, I donate. Christmas….I can never have enough Christmas, just keep buying it.
—Karen Koschke on July 16, 2015Yardage, definitely yardage. I recently inherited my mother’s stash. Now I have double the fun or double the trouble – I haven’t decided!!
—Deb C on July 16, 2015Too many fat quarters. I am a fat quarter collector and never seem to have just the right ones!
—Kate on July 16, 2015My stash has lots of FQ size pieces. But I do not buy them often in packs or bundles.
—Martina on July 16, 2015Most of my stash is yardage. I do have a lot of Christmas scraps though.
—Linda Lewis on July 16, 2015Actually, it is my scraps that need thinning, so I have started 3 scrap quilts to work on when I get bored with my current project.
—Cynthia Sato on July 16, 2015Both yardage and precuts.
—Jan on July 16, 2015yardage, I’m not into precuts, YET
—Rhoda on July 16, 2015These fabricks are just beautiful.
—Erika Inglhofer on July 16, 2015I have lots of yardage and many fat quarters that need to be thinned out. I particularly love Christmas fabrics and projects, so this prize offer would be perfect.
—Dolores Paynter on July 16, 2015Dolores
My stash is mostly designated for specific projects. But I do have an assortment of small scraps that I pull from alot. Love to win this great prize.
—Janie O on July 16, 2015I really need to reduce my pre-cuts and need help in doing so!
—mary colley on July 16, 2015I have many fat quarters that are begging to be used. My favorite quilt is the one I am working on at the present time. Applique seems to be my favorite method of sewing with hand quilting to finish it off.
—Loretta on July 16, 2015I think there is some hanky panky going on with all my fat quarters because everytime I look, there are more of them. And then there are all the bags of scraps. . .
—Mary Martinelli on July 16, 2015"Tis the Season" looks like it has just the inspiration for all the holiday sewing ahead!
—barbara gross on July 16, 2015Barbara
The yardage in my stash probably is where I should be thinning, but I admit to having a couple of charm packs that need to be used, too. What can I say? I love fabric and sewing, and full retirement is looming. I’m starting to work on Christmas things now, and I’ve used most of the holiday pieces, so to win this would be fabulous!
—Sharon Gourlie on July 16, 2015Sharon
I have lots of fat quarters but i have lots and lots of yardage. Cutting into the yardage is hard to do for something small, so that is why i have so many fat quarters!! Can never have enough of either!!!
Carmen
—Carmen on July 16, 2015"Tis the Season" looks like it has just the inspiration for all the holiday sewing ahead! As I look at my bins of Christmas fabrics (fat quarters, jelly rolls and blocks from an exchange) I know that summer is the season to begin.
—barbara gross on July 16, 2015Barbara
I buy more yardage but pre-cuts are beginning to catch up
—Anita on July 16, 2015Love your patterns. My stash is leftovers from other projects and
—vickie on July 16, 2015"gifts "
from friends
I also help the church’s quilt group and "inherit" scraps and yardages from them. I make lap quilts, bags and other patch items for Bazaars etc. I can use most anything.
My yardage definitely needs a clean out – but it’s my retirement stash.
—Anne on July 16, 2015I have so many precuts I’ve almost run out of room to put them. So then I started gathering yards of fabric! Only makes sense to another quilter, I guess. I could use this prize in more ways than one!
—Carol G on July 16, 2015Right now it’s hard to tell, but by the time I get this paper pieced project done I think I’ll have more precuts than yardage/pieces…..
—Judys on July 16, 2015I have an extensive collection of yardage, a small yet still growing collection of precuts, and a pile of scraps that are to die for! Everything needs thinning out, but I would get very nervous if it was thinned out too much. I enjoy the hunt for that one perfect fabric, whether it just came out or is 10 years old.
—Lewcrese on July 16, 2015I have mostly yardage. Just when you think you thin it out you buy some more.
—Sharon B on July 16, 2015That’s the fun of quilting.
I have lots of both, but probably more yardage in batiks. Low on Christmas fabric.
—Karen B. on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage – I don’t have many precuts, I like to cut my yardage and make my own!
—susan on July 16, 2015Susan
My stash includes alot of fabric i inherited from my mother and my earlier days of sewing clothes. i love going through my mom’s fabric!
—CARMEN TUCKER on July 16, 2015I got on a kick of buying precuts without knowing what I wanted to do with them. So precuts is my answer. Would love to win some Christmas fabrics. Thanks.
—Jenelle Boxberger on July 16, 2015My stash is in fat quarters. So many fabrics so little time:)
—Susan on July 16, 2015I have both yardage and fat quarters…all waiting for the perfect project.I suppose both types need thinned out but I like having all the selection to preview when I start a new project. Only have a small assortment of charm packs and jelly rolls even though I like the variety each has.
—Vickie on July 16, 2015Yardage and more yardage by the handfuls, sackfuls, binsful, and closets full.
—Betty on July 16, 2015I have lots of yardage that needs to be thinned. I’ve used up some of it making pillowcases to donate but I still have more to go.
—Linda Webster on July 16, 2015The largest part of my stash is in yardage. Someday I hope to quilt most of it up.
—Diane Gilbert on July 16, 2015I don’t have a lot of precuts, neither do I have much yardage. What I have is scraps of leftovers from other quilts I have made. Some of them could be turned into precuts, but what if I need a piece slightly larger?
—Sharon Howell on July 16, 2015I have both that need to be used; however, I definitely have more yardage than precuts that I need to use. I don’t usually have a lot of scraps from precuts to put into other quilts, but I almost always have leftovers from yardage that goes into my stash.
—Virginia in AK on July 16, 2015My stash of yardage has gotten out of hand – definitely needing thinning. Thanks.
—JoyceLM on July 16, 2015I mostly have fat quarters. Which is it? Are they yardage or precuts? I guess yardage
—Lynnette Lamance on July 16, 2015Yardage! When I see a sale I buy yards for someday!
—Cindy on July 16, 2015I have both yardage and precuts but probably more presuts
—Jacqueline on July 16, 2015Yardage.
—Kathy h on July 16, 2015Yardage. Lots and lots of yardage.
—Barbara D on July 16, 2015Yardage, Yardage, and more Yardage. I definitely need to work on trimming down my wall of yardage fabric. Making gifts for family and friends would be marvelous!!
—Rosalie Knoll on July 16, 2015I guess the only thing I need to thin is scraps. I keep everything and my quilt guild friends give me their scraps. It can become overflowing very quickly! But I can make so many things from all these goodies 🙂
—Jennifer A. on July 16, 2015Definitely flannel yardage…trying to make lots of charity lap quilts
—Carole L on July 16, 2015My yardage. I can always sit down with precut and create within the time frame much faster. The yardage seems to take longer, I need to be so sure.
—Paulette Parker on July 16, 2015I love giving homemade items but never seem to finish on time. Best intentions but time creeps up on me. As a result I have much yardage to thin from the stash.
—Sue Bialorucki on July 16, 2015Thinning? Does one really do that? Every little space that gets freed is a place for new fabric. Isn’t that what we all do?
—Patricia Hersl on July 16, 2015Precuts are taking over my stash! So definitely, they need to be reduced.
—Marilyn Fite on July 16, 2015Fabric outweighs precuts…not to say there aren’t precuts there, too
—Janie on July 16, 2015Yardage definitely. That and MANY bits and pieces. Help!
—Brenda Sanders on July 16, 2015Yardage as I can’t resist and often by because I can’t do without but have no idea what I’ll use it for
—Jinnine on July 16, 2015pre-cut definitely love them
—Becky Whitehead on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage. I have some precuts, but I buy mostly yardage.
—Jo Anne on July 16, 2015I need to work on trimming down my precuts!
—Paula on July 16, 2015I have bought few precuts so it’s yardage that needs thinnng
—Judy Smith on July 16, 2015YARDAGE! I need to start Making rather than Stashing!
—Kathleen Dalecio on July 16, 2015NO SE INGLES . Pero se que las telas son preciosas, un saludo mª carmen
—Maria del Carmen on July 16, 2015Yardage, but have started a truly scrappy quilt to use some up. Thanks for the opportunity to win more fabric.
—Bea K on July 16, 2015Hi! My yardage really needs to diminish. When I first started quilting, I would buy just one yard of a fabric which has piled up. But now I buy around three yards and can complete a quilt more easily.
—angel on July 16, 2015Old yardage. Not enough new yardage.
—Sharon on July 16, 2015I have to admit that I have an over abundance of both! I promised my self that I would not purchase fabric, only patterns that allow me to get my "addiction" under control so Thank You for the opportunity!
—Donna Netoskie on July 16, 2015It would have to be yardage, because I have only 1 roll of precuts.
—B J Kinney on July 16, 2015I use precuts when teaching new quilters about color and value. It’s easier to understand when you have examples. I encourage new quilters to use precuts and the patterns created by fabric companies to use them. Using precuts eases the newbie stress of "what fabric do I choose" and "which fabric goes where".
—Nancy Harris on July 16, 2015I find that fat quarters are the best for me as I like to make sampler quilts and use lots of different fabrics.
—Dorothy Emanouil on July 16, 2015I hardly have any pre cuts.
—Judy Bowers on July 16, 2015I would have to say it’s a tie!
—Susan on July 16, 2015I like to hang on to my yardage, so pre-cuts would have to be relinquished.
—Joan on July 16, 2015Yardage……..I have WAY too much.
—Connie on July 16, 2015I have a LOT of precuts that I need to do something with. All sizes.
—Debby on July 16, 2015I would say my yardage definitely needs thinning. I don’t buy a lot of precuts. Thank you for the giveaway.
—Joyce Carter on July 16, 2015This fabric would certainly help me this Christmas
—Peg on July 16, 2015My yardage definitely need thinning. It covers a whole wall and yet I need more space. My flannels reside in boxes inside a shower in the upstairs bathroom. I always pray we don’t have guests who need that bathroom and shower….where then would my fabric reside!
—Margaret Andrews on July 16, 2015I’ve been buying more and more pre cuts (just a little lazy I guess), so, that’s what needs clearing out.
—Robin M on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage, have lots of leftovers from wedding quilts I have made
—Lore Stanley on July 16, 2015I would have to say yardage is my biggest stash…
—Mary Grace Ronan on July 16, 2015Very recently I opened a large storage tub to see what was inside and found it filled with treasures!!
Quilt tops made long ago and put in a ‘safe place…!’, yardage that I had been so excited to buy but had no immediate use for, yardage of insulating wadding to make placemats; it was like being 10 years old on Christmas morning 😀 Until my daughter-in-law burst my bubble and said, "How much money have you spent on fabric when you could have used all that?!"
Sad to say, she’s absolutely right and I needed to do something about it.
I spent the next few days rearranging things in my home office (which had become something of a dumping ground) and made room on the built in shelves in my living room. I used my 6 1/2″ ruler to wrap the yardage around so they would all be the same width and stacked them on the shelves where they can be seen (and look absolutely fabulous btw :D)
I have several pretty jars in various sizes, so they were used for storing ribbons, buttons, safety pins and even those empty cotton reels that you just know my grandchildren will want to string one day 🙂
I pulled out my tangled scraps and spent time cutting them into useful squares and strips and before I knew it, I was organised?! I’d almost forgotten what that felt like 😀
Now, the home office is Stash Central and I can find what I need without having to roam the entire house. And when my friends come over they see my shelves of fabric and ooh and aah over how lovely it looks.
Best of all, I’m inspired to use what I have!!!
—Kayt Deans on July 16, 2015Yardage! I have only a few precursor, so it is definitely my yardage that needs thinning.
—Carol cook on July 16, 2015I have more yardage, and I would like to thin it down. I have never seen an ugly fabric….some are just prettier than others.
—Sue S. on July 16, 2015Yardage. I often see fabric I "can’t live without" but have no project in mind for it. So I buy a yard or two and there it sits in a tote, waiting for the perfect quilt, table runner, or gift item pattern or……
—Judy O. on July 16, 2015It would have to be yardage!!!
—Lynn on July 16, 2015My precuts need it most, I love to buy jelly rolls and fat quarters, they are addictive. Now I must start using them!
—Martha Morgan on July 16, 2015I have lots more precuts, especially fat quarters, than yardage. In fact I always have to buy yardage to finish my scrap quilts – for borders and backing.
—Anna Marie Werner on July 16, 2015I’d have to say stash. I have no self control in a quilt shop.
—Jill Voyles on July 16, 2015Definitely it is my pre cuts I buy those more than anything.
—Judy on July 16, 2015Yardage definitely! I can’t help myself when I see material that I just have to have.
—Janet on July 16, 2015Need to thin the yardage….
—Barbara H on July 16, 2015Definelty yardage! Just now buying precuts…
—Yvette Cienski on July 16, 2015I have to say yardage because I tend to buy at least a yard of fabric when I find something I like. And, of course, I like just about everything in textiles.
—Joanna on July 16, 2015I have lots of small pieces of fabric I just can’t seem to throw away.
—Martha Maddy on July 16, 2015Yardage definitely. I’ve been buying yardage for many, many years but have only recently started buying pre-cuts.
—Lisa Marie on July 16, 2015Right now I’d have to say that my stash is pretty thin as I have been raiding it for my scrappy quilts.. I really only have my uglies left lol. My next mission is to start building up my stash and I find fat quarters are a great way to do that!!
—Brenda Peplinskie on July 16, 2015I would say yardage. With 12 grandkids, lots of leftover fabric from lots of different projects for them or inspired by them.
—Adele Devolder on July 16, 2015The stash I would like to weed down is actually remnants left from sewing clothes. (I made nearly all my own clothes for years, as well as my children’s clothes!)
—Diantha Howard on July 16, 2015I love these fabrics – thanks for the chance at the giveaway.
I have lots of both but I guess it would be yardage that needs used up. I buy the beautiful stuff to "have on hand" and for "quilt backings" and then it’s so beautiful I don’t want to cut it up into little pieces, I just stand back and admire it. I guess I am a full fledged fabriholic. 🙂 Hope I win some more!
—Rose Grimm on July 16, 2015Pre-cuts. I am charmed by charm packs and they are piling up. But I just can’t part with them!
—Pjntx on July 16, 2015yardage, there are some pieces going back to the 1980’s.
—Margaret on July 16, 2015The precuts for sure – I am always buying them!
—Lee on July 16, 2015Pre cuts for sure! I keep picking up the new colours each season now I just have to buckle down and shelve the rug hooking for a season.
—Mary on July 16, 2015I’ve accumulated quite a few precuts which need to be used.
—Joan H. on July 16, 2015It’s hard to tell, I have some of both. I’ve been sewing for a long time (50+ yrs) and have a lot of scraps that I am trying to cut into my own precuts. When I get THAT project done I probably would have to say my "precuts" would need thinning.
—Sherie on July 16, 2015when I retired 8 years ago I had built up my stash, in a small way, hoping to use it later.
—Marie Bowman on July 16, 2015Now I find some of it is dated and others are diminishing fast….( ie white, cream)
so my choice would be yardage to put some life into my stash.
Thank you.
My yardage needs more thinning as I tend to buy yardage rather than pre-cuts.
—Susan on July 16, 2015Yardage needs thinning….& will be one I finish some of the many WIPs I’ve got going!
—Amy Cofer on July 16, 2015My yardage needs more thinning out. Also my scrap collection is close second. Must do some Christmas gifts.
—Sheila Ivany on July 16, 2015Precuts, because I can’t walk by the bins w/o looking! I can usually find a few to bring home to stash. ps, this is an awesome gift love the prints and colors that panel is giving me ideas!
—Jennifer Essad on July 16, 2015My husband would say it all needs thinning – I would probably say pre-cuts.
—Lynn D in NC on July 16, 2015I have several pre-cuts that I need to "thin"!
—Judy F on July 16, 2015Oh, definitely my yardage! I think I have enough to open my own shop!
—Rene Bolton on July 16, 2015Stash building……over 30+ years the rules keep changing. Now I buy for projects and kit up and I buy for donation quilts which lets me play some. I have always been a Christmas fan and would love to win your prize. Always great books and partnerships with the fabric makers offered. Greatly appreciated.
MJ Modjeski
—Mj Modjeski on July 16, 2015Definately pre-cuts!!!!!
—Karen on July 16, 2015My yardage needs thinning, or I need more PRE cuts!!!
—Melody Lutz on July 16, 2015My yardage could definitely be thinned a little!
—Ashley on July 16, 2015Yardage I purchased for quilt backs is stacked on shelf and in a totebox waiting for completed tops!
—Marty on July 16, 2015Yardage, for sure. Just bought more today!
—Marilyn Goehl on July 16, 2015Probably the yardage, but I’m willing to add to my stash!
—Kathy on July 16, 2015Both need thinning. But I really need to put some precuts to use.
—Charlotte on July 16, 2015I don’t purchase many pre-cuts, with the exception of a few fat quarters – the hardest part of pruning my stash is organizing it in the first place! I try to only purchase what you might call, "classic" fabrics, that don’t need to be pruned at all!
—Sue Chapman on July 16, 2015I have mostly yardage although I also have some precut strip packets.
—Ricia on July 16, 2015My dear hubby made me choose one holiday so I chose Christmas. I love making Christmas quilts and those are beautiful fabrics I would love to add to my quilts.
—Debby Hughey on July 16, 2015Yardage is the place I’m at. I always buy at least 2 yards in case I want more, and I can’t find it again.
—Linda on July 16, 2015I have yardage to use up. I can’t resist the 1 yard cuts at the quilt festival.
—Kathy on July 16, 2015My answer would be yardage and fat quarters–don’t have many pre-cuts.
—Amy M. on July 16, 2015Yardage, of course. Some of the pre-cuts are little expensive for doing Quilts of Valor!
—Barbara Winkler on July 16, 2015My daughter and I sew burp clothes for friends and family expecting a little one. I tend to grab flannel pieces on sale for us to sew up at a later time. My plastic bin is full! Time to do some sewing….. and then some.
—Cindy Rader on July 16, 2015"Thinning" my stash? Oh girlfriends, if you could only see my stash – it’s embarrassing. Hands down, I need to thin out quilt shop yardage. While I continuously donate fabric, there’s so much that I’ve considered renting storage space. But, that’s crazy! So one step at a time, I’m bagging fabric to donate. Biggest problem? I’ve worked at a quilt shop for 10+ years. So hard to resist beautiful new fabrics! This quilting addict needs a cure.
—Victoria Norman on July 16, 2015"Thinning" my stash? Oh girlfriends, if you could only see my stash – it’s embarrassing. Hands down, I need to thin out quilt shop yardage. While I continuously donate fabric, there’s so much that I’ve considered renting storage space. But, that’s crazy! So one step at a time, I’m bagging fabric to donate. Biggest problem? I’ve worked at a quilt shop for 10+ years. So hard to resist beautiful new fabrics! This quilting addict needs a cure.
—Victoria Norman on July 16, 2015My stash that needs thinning is my yardage… I only buy precuts if I have a specific project in mind.
—Jennifer Palma on July 16, 2015Oh my goodness,it has to be yardage. I was really thinning it out till a friend got a long-arm and offered to quilt all my charity quilts. She’s done 23 of them and didn’t want me to give her any backing fabric. We both make lots of quilts for charity so she was happy to provide the backing and practice on all those quilts. She’s been thanking me! Yes, some of this yardage must go. Maybe I’ll quilt some tops on the sly and not tell her. I’m sure grateful to have such a wonderful friend. Thanks for making me think about how fortunate I am.
—JoAnne T. on July 16, 2015My yardage definitely needs more thinning.
—P Roediger on July 16, 2015I love my stash and I would prefer not to thin anything and buy more fabrics, no matter if yardage or pre-cuts 😀 and one day maybe my daughter would be glad to get this inheritance.
—Zuzana on July 16, 2015My stash indeed needs thinning, its the yardage. Not all my stash is good quilting fabric. I’ve been making charity lap quilts and bears for hospice. Need ideas to thin my stash and also to begin my Christmas gift making. Thanks!
—Linda on July 16, 2015Definitely yardage. I just had to donate about fifteen totes of yardage and scraps to Goodwill because of a move to a much smaller place.
—Debbie Chenoweth on July 16, 2015I would say yardage. I’m still collecting precuts!! Thanks for the chance to win.
—Christie on July 16, 2015Yardage but why do I have to thin it? I like it just the way it is.
—Chris on July 16, 2015I have more yardage than precuts. Some of my yardage dates back to when my girls were little and I made their clothes. Now, I am waiting for grandchildren to use it in quilts for them!
—Michelle on July 17, 2015Yardage reigns in my stash … even after quilting for 20+ years, it still needs thinning ! How does that happen?? I’ve been converting some of it to precuts too.
—Aggiequilter on July 17, 2015Thanks for a great giveaway !
Thinning fabric? What is this thing you speak of? One can never have enough fabric whether it be precuts or yardage. I love having lots to choose from when embarking on a new project. Better too much than too little is my motto.
—Ondrea on July 17, 2015I have started accumulating pre-cuts waiting for projects to fit the fabric. My favorites to keep on hand are fat quarters. I would love to win the bundle of "Holiday Blooms" and the pretty poinsettia panel would make a beautiful wall quilt to match the quilt that is in progress on my sewing machine. Thank you for always being so generous in your giveaways.
—Alesha Klein on July 17, 2015Thinning? I love my stash, why would I want to thin it? I could use more yardage and precuts, that is why I enter these drawings!
—Sharon Dvorak on July 17, 2015I was gifted with another quilter’s scraps which are gorgeous, but plentiful!! That’s what needs to be thinned in my stash, but I do use pieces & bits of it in almost every project!
—Becky Couture on July 17, 2015I really need to get busy de-stashing my flannels. Several years ago I went all out on flannel quilts and once I made one for everyone I know, I still have a large amount remaining. Slowly but surely they will get used!
—Nancy Weber on July 17, 2015Precuts. Definitely precuts.
—Allison Evrard on July 17, 2015It’s definitely yardage, because I seldom buy precuts. I buy some fat quarters, but more often I buy at least a yard when I find a fabric that I love.
—Alice Kane on July 17, 2015As a relatively new quilter I don’t have much of a stash but have more yardage than pre-cuts.
—Linda Mae on July 17, 2015I would love to have more jelly rolls. I can never have enough.
—Margaret Schindler on July 17, 2015All parts of stash need thinning. I do make pillowcases which does help. I have plans!!!
—nancy in IN on July 17, 2015Yardage, definitely. I have a lot of precuts, but a LOT more yardage. Thanks!
—Delaine on July 17, 2015My yardage is overflowing. Have to stop buying just because I like it.
—Kathy Elamon on July 17, 2015Mine is YARDAGE!!! I have only been working in Quilts the last two years. I have been sewing forever. I am just getting into precursor!!!
—Linda Ladd on July 17, 2015Yardages and mini charm pack. I am not sure when or how I started to collect the mini charm packs.
—sew happy on July 17, 2015Lots more yardage.
—Dawn on July 17, 2015Stash busters are always welcome! I keep trying but these fabric manufacturers keep making it difficult not to purchase as do all the pattern writers and publishers! Keep the goodies coming. I would welcome this prize with open arms! My family can work on my stash when I’m gone, after all, they get the quilts right?
—Diane on July 17, 2015Yep! It’s those precuts, especially the charm packs. I don’t want to use just one charm without all the rest because I’m sure that’s the one I’ll need for a larger project. So I just keep fanning through them and wonder what will I do!
—Mary Smith on July 17, 2015My precut stash is taking over my sewing room…and I couldn’t be happier. With Christmas coming, I am sure that I will reduce it greatly.
—Kathie Peters on July 17, 2015Oh, I would have to say that it is definitely yardage than needs to be used up in my stash.
—Darla E on July 17, 2015Oh, Marcus, you have done it again with this lovely bundle of Christmas fabrics. I have a lot of one metre cuts of Seasonal prints that need my attention, lots of gifts to plan, so some creative projects would be a life saver as I need to begin in August!! 2015!!
—Alfreda Rupert on July 17, 2015Thank you.
Definitely pre-cuts. I just finished sorting through my yardage and thinned it out. Now to use some of my beautiful pre-cuts! Sometimes I don’t use them right away because they are so pretty I don’t want to use them up.
—Susan on July 17, 2015Oh…I need to thin my yardage stash…I don’t collect many precuts.
—Judy Maggio on July 17, 2015I have quite a bit of yardage, less precuts but I hate to use my precuts. Probably because I always bought yardage and know I can find something as good or better but precuts, you just get a finite amount of each pattern and once you use that layer cake or fat quarter or jelly roll it’s gone! Sigh. Thanks.
—Mom C on July 17, 2015oh my gosh! my yardage. I bought a lot at a closing out sale and my drawers are full! Thanks. I’d make space for that Christmas fabric, though.
—Diana on July 17, 2015I need to thin both, precuts and yardage!
—Becky G on July 17, 2015Stash, what stash??? Those crates of materials is my art piece-lol
—Linda on July 17, 2015I have fat quarters that need to be used.
—Mary Ann Taylor on July 17, 2015Yardage for me, but pre cuts are a close second.
—Dorothy B on July 17, 2015I don’t have a very large stash and no Christmas fabric, so that fat quarter bundle of Christmas fabric would be fantastic for gift making this year.
—Gladys Bacon-Rust on July 17, 2015I have more yardage, I sew charity quilts so when I see fabric on sale that would make perfect backing, I buy it. I need to make more tops to use up all the backing fabric I keep buying. Thanks for the chance to win.
—Kathy Hancock on July 17, 2015Yardage. BIG chunks.
—Diana O. on July 17, 2015Definitely precuts! Although there is a lot of yardage I am able to use it for backings. I have become rather adept at piecing my quilt backs. Almost makes them reversible!
—Judi on July 17, 2015I would have to say I have a lot of fat quarters to use up and some jelly rolls.
—Cindy Schultz on July 17, 2015I buy few precuts, but have lots and lots of fat quarters and yardage. I see so many projects in this book that I want to make, so I’ll have to buy it if I don’t win it!
—Glenna Denman on July 17, 2015I have precuts in my stash! Looks like lots of fun projects!! Thanks!!
—Marcia on July 17, 2015Yardage, definitely!
—Elaine on July 17, 2015Definitely need to use up some of the yardage stash.
—teri on July 17, 2015Definitely fat quarters! I love to collect but then have a hard time getting them into something!
—Anne on July 17, 2015Most of the yardage in my stash is destined for backings of someday finished quilts. I don’t have many precuts other than fat quarters, so the smaller than yardage pieces I have are what should be cut into usable pieces.
—Joye on July 17, 2015I do have a lot of yardage mat’l in my stash but not many pre-cuts. Guess I always felt that having a lot of a certain material on hand that I liked would be handier when making something special. Being a person who loves green and red fabrics that Christmas bundle would help me get a head start on making some quick gifts for the Christmas season. I do have a lot of special people that I make gifts for.
—Lois Chic on July 17, 2015I have to admit that it is both, but I have been working on it
—Nancy Angerer on July 17, 2015Yardage. I have cabinets full. Thanks for the great giveaway.
—Renea on July 17, 2015I definately have yardage that needs to be thinned out. I think I could make many Christmas gifts with my stash given the time and inspiration!
—Patty on July 17, 2015The only thing I do not have are pre cuts!
—Donna on July 17, 2015both! I can not go anywhere there is fabric and not come out without any.
—margie cook on July 17, 2015Yardage!
—Bro. AJK on July 17, 2015Oh my, I have too much of both, but my yardage definitely ought weighs my pre-cuts. Maybe that means I need to buy more pre-cuts!
—Judy Purcell on July 17, 2015Yardage! and scraps of all sizes/types!
—JB on July 17, 2015Probably the yardage as I have many hangers full of it. I use pants hangers to hold it so that I can see better. But then I’d have to choose what to thin out. TOO HARD!!
—Nancy Eriksen on July 17, 2015I would have to say my yardage wins out by far.
—Vickie Graveline on July 17, 2015I need to clear some of my yardage stash. a couple of times I’ve tried to sort it to give some away. but then I think NO, I might need it for something or I just really like it.
—Mindy Saye on July 17, 2015I definitely should thin my yardage stash, but every time I think about it I end up using something that I never thought I would. Guess my kids will have to get rid of it someday!
—Kathleen T on July 17, 2015Yardage needs thinning out in my stash! I used to buy "just in case" I might need it…. I am trying to stop buying fabric that way. Except for white and snow Kona cotton!
—susie on July 17, 2015My fat quarters and my scrap stash need thinning. It seems the more I make, the more it grows!
—Madeline on July 17, 2015Thinning is needed in my yardage or partial yardage. I have fabric I will probably never use that someone else might like and some fabric that I just love but don’t know how to make it look it’s best in a quilt.
—Karen L. on July 17, 2015Yardage wins in my collection. As said Susie, I use to buy "just in case"… but I will not stop!
—Rosana Solon C. Visintainer on July 17, 2015Thinning is always needed, I have both as my yardage becomes precuts.
—rachel on July 17, 2015Help! I need help getting my charm pack stash under control. I’ve succumbed to the "little bit of everything syndrome" and need ideas to destash these beauties I’ve acquired. They deserve to be seen.
—ckachel on July 17, 2015My yardage stash needs more thinning out than my precut stash, although I have plenty of both!!
—JLouise on July 17, 2015Yardage in odd leftovers.
—Margaret on July 17, 2015I think it would be my yardage. I acquired more of my mother’s stash this year, so have some larger pieces to use. I’d love to win the book and add these lovely seasonal fabrics to my stash. Love this blog!
—Darlee on July 17, 2015I think my yardage probably needs more trimming. I have the habit of buying the rest of the bolt when there isn’t much left. It adds up after a while.
—Susan Clarkson on July 17, 2015Probably yardage, there is some that I will probably never use
—Dwana Zahn on July 17, 2015No doubt about it – yardage! The precuts get processed much faster. Thank you for the giveaway!

—Teresa Knittingdancer on July 17, 2015Ok I will admit it my yardage stash may be in need of reduction
—Marlene on July 17, 2015Beautiful fabrics. I’d love to win. Thank you
—Caroline Rohrer on July 17, 2015My Yardage still seems to grow despite my new resolution to only buy what I need for a particular project… Damn those sales that I love!!!
—Jess Webeck on July 17, 2015Definitely yardage! I love fabric, and cannot stand to have it "go out of stock", so I buy it without any thoughts as to what to make!
—Sue Cleek on July 17, 2015I’d pick precuts. That’s what I have the most of.
—Deb on July 17, 2015I can’t resist charm packs. I really need to incorporate them into more projects. Then I can collect more.
—Darla Zimmer on July 17, 2015Definitely yardage. 21 large totes full. Sometimes it’s little projects that get me back in the game, and Christmas gifts are an excellent way to get motivated.
—Alexia Jandourek on July 17, 2015I don’t need thinning….I need thickening! I’ve just recently started building a stash and I’d love anything I can get!
—Carol on July 17, 2015Stash reduction? Says who?!? Ok, MAYBE I could part with a few yards of fabric, but none of my precuts!!

—Lillian Klaeger on July 17, 2015It’s my yardage that needs thinning! Although, I do have a lot of precuts.
—Bridget on July 17, 2015Yardage is definitively my issue. I never seem to have exactly what I want, so there must be room for more. . .
—Caren on July 17, 2015Yardage, I buy very few precuts, and have fabrics dating back to the 1980s that I still think are pretty enough to use…
—Ruth Spencer on July 17, 2015Only the ugly , I love fabric
—barbara woods on July 17, 2015I am trying to get precuts and scrapes cleaned up before I make more.
—Linda Christianson on July 17, 2015The only fabric I have that qualifies as a pre-cut is tons of fat quarters, so I suppose I must trim my yardage!
—Linda Towers on July 17, 2015I have a lot of fat quarters, but it is really my yardage that needs to be thinned out. Thanks for the chance to win.
—Kathy C on July 17, 2015The yardage needs to be thinned out. I’ve always been a pushover for those wonderful sales, and have collected more than I will probably ever use! It’s only been in the last few years that I’ve purchased precuts.
—Cegnfred on July 17, 2015I am a new quilter and building a stash is my current ambition, and sewing for the upcoming holidays.
—Helen on July 17, 2015Definately the pre cuts, I really do not have that much yardage. I actually don’t have a large stash either, except maybe my batiks!!!
—Kathy Whetstine on July 17, 2015None of the above. LOL My stash of Fat Quarters needs thinning. I can’t walk out of a fabric store without buying Fat Quarters!
—Brenda on July 17, 2015I actually do have more pre-cuts than yardage to whittle down after I received a number of jelly rolls from a friend who was making room for newer fabrics she had purchased. I love doing Christmas projects and would really enjoy the fabrics, panel and book. Thanks for this opportunity to possibly win!
—Janet in ND on July 17, 2015Please, PLEASE pick me!!! Those Marcus fabrics are LUSCIOUS!
—Kathy on July 17, 2015After reading numerous comments regarding yardage, precuts, etc., I, too, love fabric and my stash is growing as well, especially in pre-cuts as they take up less space than yardage. Now, I need the time to put it all together.
—Susan on July 18, 2015Fabric grows by itself, don’t you know? Fabric and quilting are a love affair. Just thinking of the possibilities is exciting. Love any additions to my stash.
—Ellie P on July 18, 2015I have an accumulation of more yardage in various sizes and colors. In defense, I like to think that an artist needs a palette of colors to choose from to create works of art.
—Rosalind Gutierrez on July 18, 2015Definitely my fabric stash. When I buy pre cuts I usually know what I am going to make with them and I get those made.
—Barbara on July 18, 2015It’s true, I have much more yardage than precuts that I need to dive into more. But much of those precuts are just looking pretty and have not been opened, much less used. Dilemma!
—Marie Chat on July 18, 2015My stash definately.I buy too much at estate sales and Quilter’s yard sales
—Susanne Forest on July 18, 2015My Yardage Stash. I have tons of fabrics that I love but dont know what to make with them.

—Paula on July 18, 2015Hi there,
—Jacqueline VH on July 18, 2015My yardage needs to be thinned…but I have been doing really well lately, using up some of my "old" stash and replacing it with new!!!
Thanks!
Quilty Huggs,
Jacqueline
Yardage stash!
—Ann on July 18, 2015My precuts are stacking up, because they are always so tempting on sale.
—Julie Hedden on July 18, 2015My "Pre cuts" for sure, but don’t have the heart to give away, as "someday I’ll use them!" Would love to win anything though!!!! I get a bigger stash and might actually use some of my stash to do and finish! Yahoo!!!
—Jeanette S on July 18, 2015My fat quarters need some taming, but then so do my scraps! They’ve taken on a life of their own lately. dahlgren0609 at gmail dot com

—Gwendolyn Clark on July 18, 2015I absolutely love Christmas fabric!!!!
—Nancy Young on July 18, 2015I need to slash my yardage stash. I have some fabric that must be 30 years old! Thanks for the giveaway!
—Kristi Castanette on July 18, 2015I really need to slash my stash! The oldest is yardage!
—Vicky on July 19, 2015My yardage could use some serious thinning. Next in line would be my jelly rolls. Always love new fabric, though! 🙂 Thanks for the giveaway!
—Carol Kussart on July 19, 2015I need to thin yardage and scraps. I don’t often buy precuts…I tend to buy yardage.
—Sandy on July 19, 2015My entire sewing room needs an overhaul….I am a fabric hoarder, I HAVE MUSH MORE YARDAGE THAN PRECUTS…..SO I NEED TO CLEAN OUT SOME OF THAT AND DONATE TO OUR LOCAL SENIOR CITIZENS HOME FOR PROJECTS.
—Susy on July 19, 2015For years and years I have ‘collected’ fat quarters so I can own at least a little bit of my favorite fabrics. I do use my fat quarters but I have more small pieces than large hunks of yardage.
—Karen on July 19, 2015I have many many fat quarters and precuts and yardage.
—Kathy on July 19, 2015Have been working with wool so hoping to get back to
piecing and being able to use up some of my stash.
Christmas in July sounds wonderful to me, as Christmas
will soon be upon us and handmade gifts would be wonderful.
I have several charm packs and lots of fat quarters to use up – must get on with lots of lovely things soon!
—Suzanne on July 19, 2015I tend to buy yardage so that definitely needs thinning out!
—Debbie Miller on July 19, 2015wonderful group of material. Would love to add it to my collection!
—Jane on July 19, 2015My stash is over flowing. I have yardage and when get smaller pieces make my own precuts to add to those that I buy so everything needs to be thinned. I see something I like and I buy it if it’s for a project or not, a project will come along sooner or later.
—Pat Brich on July 19, 2015We just moved and even I was surprised by how much was in my stash. Bless my husband – he never complained once about it. It is mostly yardage, and it needs to be thinned out. Maybe I should make a promise to use only stash for Christmas presents this year!
—Pearl on July 19, 2015at the moment I have about equal, stash to pre cuts
—elr on July 19, 2015I have LOTS of yardage–considering on making my own precuts from some of it!
—Barb K. on July 19, 2015I try to manage my stash well, so I don’t need much thinning.
—Carol W on July 19, 2015Very generous gift pack, just in time to get going on those homemade Christmas presents. Thanks! Oh, my yardage definitely needs thinning out.
—Carmen Rowan on July 20, 2015After going through my sewing room and actually putting all fabrics together it is apparent that I must start using my precuts. So cute and easy to buy, but do no good stacked up on shelves in the closet!
—jmniffer on July 20, 2015It is definitely the yardage that needs to be thinned. Even so, It is hard to resist buying more!
—GloryBee on July 20, 2015ummm – both? Though I think that precuts are easier to store, so I would probably have to say that I need to reduce my yardage stash more than my precuts stash.
—Barbara Johnson on July 20, 2015Yardage for me! I’m a hoarder.
—Pamela on July 20, 2015I went through my stash this past winter making multiple quilts and decimated my fat quarters. Definitely have more yardage at this point in time. A problem that I am trying to remedy. By added more fat quarters that is.
—Lori S on July 20, 2015I have more yardage than precut fabrics. I have been making scrap quilts with my leftovers this year so I need to get them done and move back to the yardage stash. =)
—Susan Michael on July 20, 2015I have lots of both, but I think my precuts are a little in the lead – I just love them. Thanks for the chance to win 🙂

I have more FQs than yardage and I try to make them into projects as quickly as I can… But since I hand quilt, a project like a quilt can take months!! As can be expected, I have a few WIP to keep my creative juices flowing!!
—MicheleTimms on July 21, 2015I need to thin my scraps and small bits. I do have some precuts, and lots of yardage, but the scraps are the most difficult to tame.
—Maryellen on July 21, 2015I have a lot of yardage and FQ and I have begun cutting into strips. I’m slowly using scraps. Keep my civil war scraps separate from all others!
—Gloria on July 22, 2015Oh gosh, it’s July already. I have one gift completed with many more to do. Bed runners, placemats, lap quilts and more! Beautiful patterns in "Tis the Season" and those great Christmas fabrics would sure come in handy.
—Helen on July 22, 2015I am new to quilting, but have caught the "build the stash" bug in a major way! I have both yardage and pre-cuts. I have plans for the pre-cuts (am working with two charm packs now), but it’s the yards and yards that need to be used. . . At least some day! : )
