I have really gotten into taking my people powered sewing machines to museums and sewing things that would have been sewn during different time periods. This year the focus was on 1940’s so I started with a 1940’s dress and apron, then moved onto a double oven mitt sewing project I found in a 1940’s era sewing book. All the while teaching kids to sew drawstring bags. I haven’t decided on what era to do next year.

While the book focuses mainly on 2 color quilts I also picture them as being done in rainbows of colors–there is no end to the possibilities! I would very much love to win this so I can eventually make my own and outstanding civil war beauty for me and to show it at my local quilt show here in Adelaide.
