  • The Civil War Legacies IV. I have really gotten into taking my people powered sewing machines to museums and sewing things that would have been sewn during different time periods. This year the focus was on 1940’s so I started with a 1940’s dress and apron, then moved onto a double oven mitt sewing project I found in a 1940’s era sewing book. All the while teaching kids to sew drawstring bags. I haven’t decided on what era to do next year.

I _think_ that looking over the record at the end of a week/month/year will help me feel better about what I do really accomplish (rather than regretting that I don’t finish enough projects). 🙂

  • For me it is the Quilter’s Journal. I have my grandmother’s recipes in a book that she kept, it’s like her recipe journal. I love looking through it even with the food stains on some pages. I know my daughter would love a journal of my quilting experiences. Thank you so much for the giveaway.

  • The quilting journal would be a wonderful book to have. Currently I write in my date book what I did that day, but I could write so much more in a journal. In reality, all the books you are offering would be useful. Nothing like a quilting book to thumb through and read in an evening.

I would very much love to win this so I can eventually make my own and outstanding civil war beauty for me and to show it at my local quilt show here in Adelaide. It would be wonderful to learn more about the history of the design and to get to be taught by such a great quilter as Carol Hopkins it would be an honor.
