Jane Davidson and Pat SloanOf the new book, Pat (right) says, “Our online group has become a melting pot of comradeship, education, and inspiration, with true beginners and seasoned quilters sewing alongside each other and cheering each other on. Jane and I wanted the designers of The Splendid Sampler 2 to carry on that same feeling of friendship and encouragement. So we asked them to design their blocks with this question in mind:

‘I’m living my best quilting life when . . .?’

You’ll be delighted by the answers these designers have given in the form of their block designs. We can’t wait to share more with you soon!”

Stay connected to Pat and Jane’s Facebook page for The Splendid Sampler so you’ll be among the first to know about super-exciting sewing plans in the months leading up to the new book’s release. —Suzanne on April 18, 2018
  • Have made 50, have 2 more that are in process.I plan to finish them. Taking my time enjoying the process. I love the stories with each block.one of my favorite things is trying new rechniques.Even if a block can be made many ways,I do them as each designer instructs. I have surprised myself more than once by finding I like the new technique better than what I would have done on my own. Look forward to the new book!

    —Machelle on April 18, 2018
  • 11-50, I squeeze one in here and there.

—Melody Lutz on April 18, 2018

—Sheila Boser on April 18, 2018
  • I have about 75 completed and plan to add about 15 more, excluding about ten I could not like no matter who designed them. Not going to start the second one as I am finishing off a few quilts so my kids see them a complete instead of is pile of blocks.

—MaryAnn Mings on April 18, 2018
  • I did my best to follow the Blocks as they came out each week. My Quilt is finished, just finishing off the binding to put it in a Show in May. Looking forward to the next project although I wasn’t planning such a big quilt again. Cheers Pat & Jane.

—Barbara Litton on April 18, 2018
  • I am sad to say I haven’t finished a sampler block. Love the idea though and I love the idea of doing it along with other people. So this is my mission. Nothing like a group of like minded people to inspire and guide me along the way. This is just what I need to get back at the sewing machine and some me time. A regular commitment!

    —Sharon on April 18, 2018
  • None yet but I’m inspired to get started!

—Ellen Busch on April 18, 2018

I learned many new techniques and was very critical of myself, but, when I saw the finished work I felt quite proud, can’t wait for SS2. I felt under a tile pressure with SS1 so perhaps working at my own pace will be easier? Thank you so much for all the sharing.xxx
