  • I love all the calendars but I think I would want the "Year of Quilts" calendar most as it would fit in my style more. I just got into making quilts and have done two and a wallhanging. I plan on making wallhangings for my sisters for Christmas. I am excited about making these as I have never like sewing on a machine–only doing handcrafting–cross-stiching and needlepoint, etc. I would love to win the Moda Fat Quarters to make another, my third, quilt as we are planning on moving to a loghome and it would be beautiful in one of our bedrooms. Thanks for the opportunity.

    —Carlene on July 17, 2014
  • I teach history classes at our quilt shop, and enjoy it so much! We’ve done Women in History, Underground Railroad (twice), the Civil War, and now I’m doing the American Indian. With history most often written by the "winners" regarding these historical events, I felt compelled to research from the "losers" perspective – letters, diaries, archaeology, etc. It’s fun, it’s educational, and following each lecture (it’s a block of the month program), a block is created from the lecture, so that each time they look at the quilt, they will remember…they also have a written history and pictures to go with it, which makes it a perfect gift to pass down through the family.

So for me, I get the most inspiration from anything history, or "down home", and close to the heart, or ancestral in it’s appeal. So for me, A Year of Quilts – 2015 is my choice! Thanks! You know us quilters, we’re always on the hunt for fresh ideas, and I found it in the history!

I look at it hanging on my wall and am constantly amazed at the wonderful imagination and creativity displayed by some quilters and their ability to use fabric to illustrate this with colour, shape and balance. These pictures help me to push myself a bit harder as I strive to bring my own ideas to fruition.

It so expresses my life with my five kids in four different states!!!

    —Maryanne on July 18, 2014
  • So very hard to choose just one. But since I have to, I would go with the Quilters Block-A-Day calendar. I cannot imagine 365 pictures of quilts. If that doesn’t get you going, nothing will. I like to see the different patterns and different color combinations. Sometimes when fabric is separate, I never think to put some colors together, but somehow quilters can do that and it goes together. I find that amazing. That’s why seeing pictures of quilts can be so inspiring. Thanks for the giveaway.

Great recycling!

—Renate Carmen on July 18, 2014
  • I absolutely LOVE the Martingale line of calendars, both the yearly and the perpetual. I have bought the regular calendar every year for many years; as soon as I learned of their existence!! And I’ve bought many of my quilting friends the perpetual quilting calendar; they are so absolutely inspirational!! But I have never bought fabric in fat quarters. I was looking through this fabric line, and it is beautiful indeed. I would truly enjoy working with the "Hearty Good Wishes" line. While I was looking at your site, I stumbled upon your free sewing patterns. I don’t believe I’ve seen those before. This weekend, I’m going to make the "Lil Monster" pencil case for the son of my new neighbors.
