New quilt-along alert! Make a stunning Reflections quilt with Katja Marek ⭐⭐⭐

Reflections is coming!

A new quilt-along based on the English-paper-pieced blocks from The New Hexagon 2 will begin in January 2020.  Gear up now by getting a copy of the book and choosing your fabrics.

We’re excited to have Katja here as a guest contributor to tell you more about her 2020 quilt-along, Reflections.

This quilt is all about Reflections! Reflecting upon something means thinking about it, rolling it over in your mind, giving it serious thought or consideration; it also means an image seen in a mirror, on water, or in a shiny surface.

In the quilt, all of the star points are mirror images. The subtle value variances within each section mimic those of a landscape reflected in water. And each of the sections causes me to reflect upon phases of my life and on the women who have influenced and who inspire me, for whom the blocks are named. As you work your way through the mirrored blocks, may you also take the time to reflect figuratively upon you life, the people in it and their influences upon you. Take time for Reflections!

Guidelines have been posted at the website. This is a free quilt-along for anyone who owns a copy of The New Hexagon 2. Courtesy email registration of all participants at KatjasQuiltShoppe.com is appreciated. Please check the Reflections option under Newsletter sign-up. This is for counting purposes only. Your email information will never be shared.

Thanks Katja! For more information about all of Katja’s fun quilt-alongs, visit katjasquiltshoppe.com—you can join any of the quilt-alongs, anytime!

I think I’m still learning as everyday there is something different I learn whether it be technique or color choices. I would say I’m an intermediate English paper pie Er at this point. I’m so excited to start Katja’s new quilt Reflections!
