  • I am home all day since having to quit working due to a chronic illness, so I technically “can” sew anytime I like, and I want to, it’s all I really want to do, but I don’t always feel like tackling large projects. So I like to make small quilts, for baby showers that may pop up, wall quilts, and throws. I also really enjoy making bags of all sizes and for for all uses. Then of course I find things to make that are quickies, decor, like pillows or baskets and liners, but I am making something to hand from the back of the seat in our brand new car, my grandbaby likes to walk her feet all over the leather and it drives grandma a little nuts! Lol. I’m running out of things to make obviously.

  • Well, my favorite is always whatever project I am working on currently, especially anything miniature. Lately, I’ve made a number of quilted phone cases. I love giving them as gifts to friends and family, made to whatever size phone the person uses. Sometimes I add a loop for a belt, other times a long strap to carry crosswise across the body, and most often simply as a little case to carry by hand or in a purse. I always add a hidden pocket for identification or credit cards, or to tuck in a few dollars for emergencies. Miniature is magic! I love quilting! Your designs inspire me!

But would love to use some evening-time to do the same.

  • Rarely do I ever sew a quilt or pillow cover made from fabrics from the same line…like my Bowtie Flower Quilt. I’m not sure what the different was about this quilt, but to satisfy my curiosity and desire to sew a scrappy version of this pattern, I went ahead and sewed a pillow cover. Yes, part of me wishes I had sewn the entire quilt like this. I think I restricted myself a bit wanting to ensure the quilt was a good representation of such a beautifully designed pattern by Elizabeth. I’m not sure why I didn’t sew with my typical tendencies on the baby quilt…which I still think turned out overly precious.
