  • Probably 500 or moe. I really don’t want to know.

    —DebrafromMD on July 24, 2014
  • I have no idea how many FQs I own! A rough guess would be 400? Wow, I really need to get sewing and use up some of those! I love to make small quilts and would love to win a copy of Fun-Size Quilts. Thanks for the chance to win one.

—Deb G. in VA on July 24, 2014
  • I own approximately 50 fat quarters. Thanks for the giveaway!

    Anita on July 24, 2014
  • I think I have approximately 50 fat quarters on hand. Thanks for the chance to win!

—Debbie Leschisin on July 24, 2014
  • I own about 50 fat quarters. I have them all organized and most of them are "precious" fabrics that I’m waiting for the "perfect" project to sew up! (which means probably never- ha!)

    —Meredith R. on July 24, 2014
  • I’m guessing 500,could be more. This book has some inspiring ideas on how to use them.

    —Marji on July 24, 2014
  • Not many . About 50

    Betsy on July 24, 2014
  • I probably have north of 500 fat quarters, but then most of my fabric is in half yard cuts. I’m a collector of fabric art, not a fabric addict.

    —Lisa S on July 24, 2014
  • Just a hundred or so. Fat quarter bundles are my go to staples. Love those minis.

—Liz Rehrauer on July 24, 2014
  • I probably have about 30-40.

    —Vicki H on July 24, 2014
  • I am fq poor, I only have about 15.

    —Sandy K on July 24, 2014
  • Oh, maybe a gazillion!

    —Peggy on July 24, 2014
  • At least 500 but they are up to something in the fabric room,I hear sex noises sometimes, they seem to be multipling like rabbits.

—Laura Taylor on July 24, 2014
  • Well thank goodness you’re not making me count them 🙂 I’m going to guess around 300.

—Robyn Brown on July 24, 2014
  • I own somewhere between 25-50 fat quarters. 🙂

    —Linda on July 24, 2014
  • I lost track a long time ago, but I’m guessing probably 300??

    —Hallie on July 24, 2014
  • I’m guessing less than 50, though I just got two stacks last week, but either I don’t buy them often or IF I do, I use them fast. so maybe more like 30, I have a random bundle of maybe 20, then these 2 new bundles 🙂

    Bea on July 24, 2014
  • I own about 200 fat quarters! Love the bundles!!!!

—Rosemarie Graham on July 24, 2014
  • I am addicted to fat quarters I love having all kinds of different fabrics.
I have not counted lately but I am sure I have well over 500 fat quarters.
I would love to win that book so I could make use of some of them.:)

    —Patricia D. Roberts on July 24, 2014
  • Love these! Thanks for the giveaway. I have several fat quarter bundles (I’m still kinda ‘new’ to quilting) but I’d guess I have about 120 or so fat quarters maybe? Wow, now you’ve got me wanting to rush home from work and count them! LOL.

    Paula on July 24, 2014
  • Wow. So hard to tell but maybe 100 or 150.

    —Ellen on July 24, 2014
  • In case my husband sees this, I’ll say about 40. All have a purpose, I just haven’t found the right pattern or the time! These little quilts would go a long way in helping me bust that stash.

    —Carol on July 24, 2014
  • I’m a beginner – probably less than20.

—Collette Morton on July 24, 2014
  • I wouldn’t know where to begin in counting the number or parts of fat quarters that I have.

    —Judy P on July 24, 2014
  • 364 fat quarters
Thanks for asking me for an INVENTORY!

Robin medley on July 24, 2014
  • I have approximately 70 fat quarters.

—Barbara Olson on July 24, 2014
  • This sounds bad for a quilter but I own less than ten fat quarters. I usually buy my material in remnents or by half yards. I hardly ever buy fat quarters, and ususally buy more material than needed for a quilt because if I like that material then I will probably like to use it on another strip or accent quilt later. Just crazy, I guess!

    —Carlene on July 24, 2014
  • Oh My Goodness!!There are many quilts I would love to make. I think I will pick the “My Little Garden”by Jackie White. I love to make banners/miniquilts to hang on the front door every month of the year for all the walkers to see and this would be great for August coming.

    —Adeline on July 24, 2014
  • I believe I’ve got somewhere around 100 fat quarters. I’ve come to believe that I’m one who likes to buy material most. Then it will lay for awhile before I decide what to use it for. I moved about a year ago and one of my sisters actually asked if she could "shop" in my sewing room. I don’t know if that is a compliment or not…

Sherri Brandt on July 24, 2014
  • Probably about 75!

    —Barbara on July 24, 2014
  • Penso di possederne circa una ventina,in colori diversi. Li acquisto per aiutarmi a completare alcuni lavori dove occorre poco tessuto.
    Silvana

Translation: I think I have about twenty, in different colors. Buying them to help me complete some work where little fabric. Silvana

    —Silvana on July 24, 2014
  • I own about 80 fat quarters and have great plans for all of them!

—Toni Leli on July 24, 2014
  • Ugh! That’s a scary question, but I’m guessing I have about 250 fat quarters!

    —Christi on July 24, 2014
  • I should have about 60 fat quarters right , keep working on them but they tend to grow!
Thank you for the opportunity to win this book
    Vicky

—Vicky Baker on July 24, 2014
  • In total.. sadly only about 50.. 2 gifted, 20 florals for myself , the rest kiddie prints for.. kiddie gifts 🙂

    —Carol on July 24, 2014
  • My fat quarter stash is over two hundred, gosh, I hope my husband doesn’t read this! I really need to get serious about reducing it so I can make room for new fabric!

    —Barb S. on July 24, 2014
  • I think, ball-park, I have 90 fat quarters, all folded and neatly packed in clear boxes so I can see them. I love fabric – its colour, texture, patterns, design. And I like a variety – small prints, bold designs, bright colours, geometrics, batiks. I sometimes buy them in coordinating bundles,I sometimes buy them on sale, thinking "they’ll come in for something, sometime". Did I say they were all folded neatly? Come to think of it, they’re not! I have some set apart for projects I’m working on, some more for projects I’m dreaming about. Wait, I have some that someone sent me as a gift in a swap. Then there are the ones I’ve stashed . . . and the ones I just bought on vacation – oh and the ones I got on the shop hop . . . Gosh! I think ball-park, I probably have closer to 200, maybe more … oh,my!

—Fran Drolet on July 24, 2014
  • Fat quarters….well I have quite a few; maybe 50-75?

    —Mary C on July 24, 2014
  • I so lost count several years ago and have been adding to the collection regularly! I am guessing 75-100 fat quarters all lovingly cared for, petted on a regular basis, and actually cut up on occasion! Please don’t tell anyone that I am a fabricholic! 🙂

    —Judi B on July 24, 2014
  • How many fat quarters? Might as well ask how many stars in the sky. 🙂

    I’ll guess around 170

    —Martha on July 24, 2014
  • Gosh, that is a hard question. If I had to estimate, I would say I own at least 200 fat quarters. What can I say? They are addictive! Thank you for a chance to win.

—Barbara Reifsnider on July 24, 2014

Beth Strand on July 24, 2014
  • Probably about 50, but I tend to buy at least half a yard normally. I oabject to the wastage that you get on a fat quarter, trying to straighten the edges.
    thanks!

  • ballpark….. 50 …. but some are no longer whole….LOL! I like to buy FQ’s when I see fabric I like but don’t have ideas for it! Love the book!

—Sandra Timmons on July 24, 2014
  • How many fat quarters do I have? I can’t count that high!!

    —DJ on July 24, 2014
  • I would say I probably have in excess of 3 or 4 thousand fat quarters right now based on the last time I went through them for sorting. I like the variety I can get for almost any quilt by just using fat quarters or mostly fat quarters. I can’t get out of a quilt shop without adding a few more. Mine are all sorted into color groups or theme groups so it’s pretty easy to gather just what I need. I just love working with fat quarters.

—Ann Marie on July 24, 2014
  • I own about 75 fat quarters. I keep collecting them because the colors and patterns are so cute and unique. Can’t wait to do something with them.

—Carol Barber on July 24, 2014
  • Let’s see, how many fat quarters do I own I’m guess close to 300:) I like to support the quilt shops in the area during our quilt runs so I’m always picking up a fat quarter or two or three.

  • must have close to 300 hundred FQ just can not pass them by.

—judy rogers on July 24, 2014
  • My best guesstimate would be 250 fat quarters. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more, but they are a quick way to add color to my stash. PS: Don’t tell my husband.

—Rhonda Casey on July 24, 2014
  • oh I would say a couple hundred….conservatively…..very conservatively!

    —Monica on July 24, 2014
  • I own about 300 fat quarters. Before I started quilting, I just bought every color and pattern I could lay my hands on. Then I started realizing that I should start planning before buying. Fat quarters helped me through more than one rough patch!

—Glenna Dameron on July 24, 2014
  • I own about16 fat quarters of fabric, most of my fabric is yardage, charm packs, layer cakes and a few jelly rolls. I love fabric.

    —Barbara on July 24, 2014
  • How many fat quarters? More than 100 and fewer than 1,000. How many have I used? Probably no more than a dozen, ever. Guess I need to get busy!

    —Tesuque on July 24, 2014
  • I would estimate around 300.

    —Robin on July 24, 2014
  • I love this book already. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun to make these little quilts since they’ll be so quick to get completed.

    —VickiT on July 24, 2014
  • OMGosh, I don’t know whether to be embarrassed or not about the amount of FQ’s I have! LOL I have probably well over 200 or maybe 300 FQ’s in my stash. If It is more then that, I don’t even want to know. Thanks for a chance to win a book to help me use them up.

    Jeanne on July 24, 2014
  • I have in excess of 100 fat quarters. Maybe it’s about time I made a scrappy quilt! What do you think???

—Carole Franson on July 24, 2014
  • maybe about 120, but yards and yards of fabric, a whole big built-in-cupboard FULL, enough to keep me going in case fabric shops run out of stock!!!

—Cathy Frankel on July 24, 2014

    —Grisel on July 24, 2014
  • I own less than a zillion and more than a hundred fat quarters. The stash just keeps growing…

    —Padora on July 24, 2014
  • Oh, between 300 and 500, give or take. I make a lot of scrappy quilts and fat quarters give me a chance to sample a line of fabric, incorporate it into a quilt, and order more if I love it.

    —Karen on July 24, 2014

    —Paula W. on July 24, 2014
  • Yiiiikes! That’s a tough question. I’d have to say about 75. But I’m working at using them in projects. Honest. ;o)

Susan Mulvihill on July 24, 2014
  • i think I have about 75, but really it is probably more!

    Margriet on July 24, 2014

material but haven’t found the right project to use them in!

—Mary Welman on July 24, 2014
  • Two hundred?? Not enough…

    —Dixie on July 24, 2014
  • Most of my stash is in FQs, since I have only a tiny space to sew. But I like the huge variety of different fabric I can fit into that area! I’m going to say I have about 200 FQs.

    Louise on July 24, 2014
  • I think I have about 50 fat quarter sets!

    —Annette S. on July 24, 2014
  • Currently I have about 20 FQs… Not
    Nearly enough haha

    Penny on July 24, 2014
  • That’s a hard question. I’m going to throw out a number just for fun. 200 I could be underestimating that though. Love fat quarters. It’s just enough fabric and you can have 4 different patterns or colors which will equal 1 yard. It’s a great choice of cut

—Marguerite Namdar on July 24, 2014
  • I have about 20 fat quarters. I know that that isn’t many compared to most quilters. I try to use what I have before I buy more.

—Kathleen Goodrich on July 24, 2014
  • When I read the question, I thought "a lot". Then, "I wonder". So, I went to count them. I got to 400 and wasn’t even half way through. My estimate is 900-1000 plus numerous fat eighths, jelly rolls, charms, layer cakes, candy squares and various kits. Not to mention….yardage! No wonder I can’t seem to keep it all organized. I really need to do something about that stash. (Although, sometimes, I think I enjoy the buying more than anything.) And sometimes it is really, really hard to cut that beautiful fabric into pieces!

—Judi Barnes on July 24, 2014
  • Over 300 probably. I just started collecting about 2 years ago. Many that I purchase I use in applique projects, but there are many that I just have to have.

—Libby Erb on July 24, 2014
  • Fat quarters are my main staple.i must have 125.

—Darlene Joyner on July 24, 2014

  • omigosh I probably own at least 200!

    —Kathryn on July 24, 2014
  • I have at least 10, sorry, I mean 10 packs of 6 coordinating fabric. I use them for small projects (sewing machine cover)or incorporate them into larger projects like an octagon table cloth for my round kitchen table.

    —Nancè W on July 24, 2014
  • If I had to take a guess I would say I have at least 100 fat quarters! I used to do a lot of online swaps and would buy a half yard of fabric to cut a fat quarter and would keep the second one for myself 🙂

    —Regina on July 24, 2014
  • I would say of the top of my head that I own about 400 fat quarters!!!! No Kidding!
    Thanks,
    Mary

—Mary Parker on July 24, 2014

  • I would guess 200… But that !might be low!

    —Jeannine on July 24, 2014

  • Oh my goodness, I am not sure I should post this in case my husband figures out how to read this. I counted the most recent fat quarters purchased in just the last 4 years after returning to the USA from living in South Africa for almost three years. It’s almost sinful to say but I have 356 fat quarters in my quilt room right now! That is not counting the ones made into tote bags that are at various stages of completion. I know I have more in a humidity controlled storage unit as well. Fat quarters travel the best and can be "shoved" into any nook and cranny. LOL I LOVE FAT QUARTERS!!!

Maybe 125?

I don’t buy the ones at the store, because they are black inside, and just blend in with the rest of the check books, etc.
I want to do a fat quarter quilt, when I get a couple of purses ahead, sitting on the closet shelf!!

The top row holds all my cones of threads so that gives be 7 rows of 8 cubbies each that hold around 75 fat quarters if they are totally full. My guess is that I have between 2 and 3 thousand fat quarters. I really need to start using them up and your book sounds like an ideal solution to using them up.

  • After making a quilt that was suppose to utilize my stash, I was left with 10 boxes of new fat quarters, 800 + .

—Shelley Taylor on July 24, 2014

—Linda Christianson on July 25, 2014

—Joan Trautwein on July 25, 2014

  • Gotta be a thousand, or more… Well stashed here. Planning for my retirement.

—Patricia Hersl on July 25, 2014
  • 1000 or less. I counted half a row in one of the fruit flat boxes I have them in an there were about 40, so that’s 640 then the batiks are separate. There are still plenty mixed in color drawers and wherever else.

—Karen Falvey on July 25, 2014
  • I would guess around 30+ FQ

    —Susan on July 25, 2014
  • Offhand I’d say I have around 100 fat quarters. Though I don’t have all of them in one spot so the count could be higher. I’m in the habit of buying half yards and cutting my own fat quarters when getting fabric for quilts. It makes the fat quarters cheaper and builds up my stash.

    —Karen N on July 25, 2014
  • I don’t have a number count, but it was a lot to pack to move!

—Kathy Brown on July 25, 2014

—Joan Rodriguez on July 25, 2014

    —Mary on July 25, 2014

    —Karen on July 25, 2014

    —Renea on July 25, 2014
  • about 200. Try to get a few colors each time I go shopping

    —Susan P on July 25, 2014
  • Oh, about 200 to 250, but I could sure use some more! There are a lot of lovely fabric design collections I’d love to have in their entirety and fat quarters are the least expensive way to own an entire line.

    —Elena on July 25, 2014
  • I own at least 100. Hard to really say…the stash just keeps growing!

    —Sue on July 25, 2014
  • I love Fat quarter Bundles – especially in solids. I have ALL the Kona Cotton Colors in Fat quarters and ALL the Moda Bella Solids. So I have at least 300+ Fat quarter solids. Not so many prints as I usually use them in a quilt. For now I only have 2 bundles of 8 each so that’s 16.

—ROBIN SHEPARD on July 25, 2014
  • Although I prefer yardage, my friends often buy me FQ as an easy a present they know I’ll love. So, as a quick mental calculation I’d say I have upwards of 400 not counting those I have already set aside for projects. This book looks absolutely fantastic and ideal for using up some of the stash on the odd occasion I have only a few minutes to spare to produce something. They’d also make really lovely, quirky gifts to return some of those FQ’s to those who gave them to me. Thanks for opportunity to win it.

    Deborah on July 25, 2014
  • I think that I have between 100-200 fat quarters. I am truing to get my stash organized and under control now. Projects that will use what I have would be a great stash buster for me.

Jamie Todhunter on July 25, 2014
  • Fat quarters rank supreme in my quilting stash. When I travel or do a shop hop I always purchase fat quarters if i don’t come with a plan for a certain quilting project. So I have over 100 I’ve collected in Maine, New York, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Indiana and even Prince Edward Island Canada. Now I’d love this new book!

    —Donna on July 25, 2014
  • I have about 20. I usually buy 1/2 yard pieces. Every time I buy fat quarters I could kick myself for not buying a bigger piece.

    —Sharon B on July 25, 2014

—Glenna Denman on July 25, 2014

    —Renee on July 25, 2014

—Catherine Dorsey on July 25, 2014
  • I think I might have about 10 Fat Quarters. Not much but I have only started to quilt so I am trying, not successfully mind you, to only buy the fabric that I need for my current project.

—Kerrie Kean on July 25, 2014
  • Over 1500, if not more. I have a 3 drawer chest filled with FQ in color order. Two boxes filled with "SETS" of FQ that range from 4 FQ to 20 FQ. More of my "collection" consist of FQ stars bound together with a ribbon, Crates of FQ, and rolled "Logs" of FQ’s. Oh yes, I do use them instead of cutting up yardage fabric.

You’ve heard of scrap happy? I’m fat quarter happy!

    Keep smiling,

Lynnita Shipman on July 25, 2014
  • I just finished reorganizing my sewing room — I have exactly 252 fat quarters! Clearly, I need some projects to convert these lovely fabrics into quilts. 🙂

    —Elaine on July 26, 2014
  • OMG … after a quick estimate of my purchased bundles, random groupings I have set aside for planned quilts, groupings I have stacked together because they play well together (but I don’t have an actual plan for them yet) … I think I must have 400+! I better get sewing!!

I am excited to win this give away! Love small projects I can finish as I am very good at starting but not so with finishing!
    Thanks!

    —Toni on July 26, 2014
  • I need to count fat quarters by the box instead of individually. I have them divided by topics, and a box of random FQ. I often give a bundle as a gift. I love to receive them as a gift, since i make lots of purses and bags. Fat quarters are my favorite pre-cuts.

—Jerry Church on July 26, 2014
  • I have only 40 or so, most of those in a bundle that I won. I buy yardage because I buy much of my fabric just because I like it. When I decide on a pattern, I want to be sure I have enough fabric to work in the pattern. The extra is always good for another project or scrap quilt.

    —Helen on July 26, 2014
  • I’m a charm pack/layer cake/strips "collector" so I don’t have a lot of FQ’s. Maybe a dozen or so. The mini-quilts look amazing! I will definitely need to make one or seventeen! LOL!!

    —Jill V on July 26, 2014
  • I’m a newbie just discovering the addiction of FQ’s. Maybe 15, but with lots of tempting fabrics out there my count will certainly go up!

    —Karen on July 26, 2014
  • Not very many, all of my fabric has been donated to me so far, a neighbor just gave me a good size handful, Id say around 20 or so.

  • I have only about 10 fat quarters as I am only new to quilting. I feel quite embarrassed when I read in the comments the numbers that others have. I just love the idea of makin mini quilts as the patterns are so inspiring and beautiful, and because they are small I can get lots of practice trying out different techniques.

—Kerrie Kean on July 26, 2014
  • I am only new to quilting but having read the numbers of fat quarters owned by others in the comments I feel slightly embarrassed to report that I probably only have around 10-15. I really like the idea of mini quilts, as they are small I can try out lots of different patterns which will help me learn lots of different techniques. The patterns in this book are particularly beautiful and I would love to make them all.

—Kerrie Kean on July 26, 2014

    —Jady on July 27, 2014

—Grandma Joy on July 27, 2014
  • I think somewhere between 50 and 100, most of which are "prize" FQ’s and are pulled out and petted on occasion and put right back lest someone see them and ask for one.

  • Any great artist has a palette of colors available, so I think a quilter should have the same but with fabric! I have about 100 fq’s but all very different, but highly blendable 🙂

  • I started with fatquarters to build my stash in my first 2 years. How many? Easy 800. Now I am up to buying bolts. My son looking in my sewing room asked my husband "does my mom have a problem?" His reply,"no they all do!"

  • I have enough fat quarters to open my own quilt shop!! I removed 45 different "bright" fat quarters out of a bucket the other day and you couldn’t tell anything was missing.

—Ann Barlament on July 28, 2014

    —sharon on July 28, 2014

—Mary Terry on July 29, 2014
  • I’m shocked to say I have about 300! The reason I’m shocked is that I always considered myself a yardage-kinda-gal and had no idea I had soooo many fat quarters.
