Give thanks – for fast, fun table-topper sewing!

We’re closing in on that busy time of year—the holidays! Even though we have lots of planning, cooking, shopping, and decorating ahead, it’s important to carve out a little space for ourselves and spend time in our happy place—in front of our sewing machines. We all deserve a little escape from the insanity, don’t we?

  • I’m afraid I have too many toppers to tally. They are fun and quick to make and fun to give away!

    —Marg on October 17, 2016
  • D. Too many to tally. Love that table toppers are a fun and easy (usually) project.

Sandy Maxwell on October 17, 2016
  • d.) too many to count! They look pretty on all sorts of tables besides my dining room table.

—Judy Snook on October 17, 2016
  • E. None of the above. I have not made any yet. I find designs I like but can’t seem to stop making quilts.

—Kim Light on October 17, 2016
  • I would fit in the "d" category. I have made many table toppers and runners. I like the challenge of making them for all seasons and more. And, I can always see them again in my children’s homes!

—Eileen Heinze on October 17, 2016
  • I would say about 10 table runners and mats. Easiest to decorate with.

    —Donna H. on October 17, 2016
  • just a few but several in the UFO category.

—Barbara Wiggins on October 17, 2016

—Angie Little on October 17, 2016
  • I have made MANY tabletoppers over the years…seasonal, birthday, just because, and anything I liked.

    —Rosemary on October 17, 2016
  • Set the Table looks full of gteat ideas, and enough colors to make my stash shrink for the holidays. Which is good, because my holiday gifts are usuallly somethinng new for my collection.

    —Lynne on October 17, 2016
  • I have made dozens. I like to decorate the table for the seasons and I also give them as gifts. These books sure are appealing.

    —Brenda on October 17, 2016
  • I have only made a few table toppers but after looking at the ideas shown here I think I could really use a lot of my stash to complete many more toppers—and to think I could knock more than a few holiday gifts off my list to boot too. I guess I had better get started sewing!

    —Sue F on October 17, 2016
  • Many, many table runners made. It’s so satisfying when it is finished, and it doesn’t take a lot of time. I didn’t realize there were so many good books available on this topic. I’ve stuck to tried and true patterns, but now I’m reenergized.

—Sandy May on October 17, 2016
  • I have made about 10-12 table toppers. Finishing up a simple fall one right now. One of my favorite types of projects – not too big, not too small.

    —Laura on October 17, 2016
  • I really can’t remember an exact number of table runners, but I’m sure it’s more than 10. I’m an "instant gratification" type, and they are so quick to finish!

Lisa Mayfield on October 17, 2016
  • I have to say #1, only a few. But will be making many more.Thank you for the chance to win.

—Karen Halliburton on October 17, 2016
  • I’ve just finished a dozen for my charity sewing group. We are selling them to raise money for our "Adopt A Pillow" project.

    —Freda on October 17, 2016
  • More than 10 for sure.

—Carol Vickers on October 17, 2016

—Gail Hosmer on October 17, 2016
  • JUst a few. Unless my little Civil War quilts count.

    —Ondrea on October 17, 2016
  • Made? Only three, although one is out on display but has the potential for further embellishment. Stashed PIGS (Projects in A Grocery Sack)? Another three! Two are for fall so I guess I’d better get to work!

    Vivian on October 18, 2016
  • I would have to say.."too many to tally" ! Love the Kim Diehl book!

    —Patty on October 18, 2016
  • Just a few, but there’s already a couple more ready to go (sort of) when I get a chance to get back to the machine!

    —Judys on October 18, 2016
  • More than 10

—Diane Beavers on October 18, 2016
  • What a timely question. Am in the process of choosing patterns and fabric for table toppers/runners for my sons and mother for each holiday. Have almost finished the ones for Christmas…well, have to do a bit of embroidery, then bind, then press…maybe not quite finished yet. Have had a blast looking for the "right" patterns, ones that will showcase the fabrics…the problem is that I like so many.

    —Sheila D on October 21, 2016
  • Made lots, kept some but most given away

    —Ruanne on October 21, 2016
  • D. Not all of them are quilted yet! But I do like making table toppers/runners!

—Janet Sabol on October 21, 2016
  • I have made too many to tally. They were made for myself, all my daughters-in-law, friends, other family members, my manicurist, hair dresser, and more. They add a lot to any decor, and are a nice gift.

    —Norma on October 23, 2016
  • I love making table runners. They make great gifts because they stitch up fast.

—Betty Gracie on October 14, 2018
  • C. More than ten and currently planning 3 new ones for gifts for Christmas.

    Deb on October 14, 2018
