One bundle, two bundle, three bundle, four?
You only need one . . . but you’ll want to get more!
In the new book One Bundle of Fun, one precut bundle of fabric is all you need to make a sweet-and-speedy quilt top. No extra yardage required!
One Bundle of Fun comes from Sue Pfau, author of the popular book Quilts from Sweet Jane. Sue is back to take you on a quick trip through your stash of precuts—Layer Cakes, Jelly Rolls, and fat-quarter bundles, to be exact. Simply choose a pattern, pair it with a precut bundle, and begin!
Here are a few examples of the beautifully quick quilts you can make with One Bundle of Fun and . . .

Want to size a quilt up or down? No problem—Sue’s got you covered. Most patterns include instructions for adding or subtracting a bundle to get the size you want. What a simple and smart approach!
We were lucky to have Sue as our next-door neighbor at Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City. Her booth was so beautiful, we immediately Instagrammed it—take a look. We’re also lucky that Sue is here at Stitch This! as a guest writer today. Welcome, Sue!
But FIRST . . .
FABRIC GIVEAWAY! Our friends at Moda and Henry Glass love precuts—so they gave us a few to give away to you! You could win:
A Jelly Roll of Me and My Sister Designs’ Dot. Dot. Dash-! for Moda; a Jelly Roll of Kansas Troubles Quilters’ Sunflower Song for Moda; or a Jelly Roll of Kate Spain’s Aria for Moda.
OR

Enter to win at the end of this post. Good luck!
Do you love precuts as much as I do? My new book, One Bundle of Fun, features 12 quilt patterns that use precut bundles of fabric, and they require no additional fabric to make the entire quilt top! I thought up the idea for this book several years ago, but honestly I thought it was impossible. Of course you really never know if things are possible unless you give them a try. Much to my surprise, I did it!
When you think about it, nothing is easier than picking out a Jelly Roll, Layer Cake, or fat-quarter bundle and then making a complete quilt top with that fabric! Whether it’s from your stash, your local shop, or the internet, picking out fabric for a project has never been easier. More time to sew!
All of the Jelly Roll quilts in One Bundle of Fun are perfect for that pile of strips you’ve been accumulating in your stash. One in particular, Striptastic, is perfect to use in a group setting to make charity quilts. It goes together fast and it’s 48″ x 48″, which is a good-sized lap or baby quilt.
Projects range from easy to intermediate. There are quick-and-easy patterns in baby-quilt and lap-quilt sizes for beginners or for quilters who want to make a fun quilt over a weekend. There are also larger designs to challenge confident beginners and teach new skills (such as sewing half-square triangles and flying geese). They’ll keep seasoned quilters happy!
If you like precuts, One Bundle of Fun is a book that will become a staple in your quilting library. I hope you go back to it through the years and make many quilts for your family and friends!
Thanks for sharing your latest book with us, Sue!

It is more challenging that way. Liz
—Liz on July 20, 2016I have more fat quarters than jelly rolls… they’re an easy "impulse" purchase at the quilt shop, kinda like picking up a candy bar at the checkout stand only calorie free, lol.
—Laura W on July 20, 2016Fat quarters are the most in my stash. But I love charms, jelly rolls and layer cakes. The best part about the precuts is being able to see all in the fabric line for the season. Most quilt shops do not have the room to carry all in a line, so this way you have them all. Also, you can jump right in and get started with the new project! 😍
—Marilynn on July 20, 2016Right now a tie between jelly rolls & layer cakes – Love them all!!!

—Cindy Weeks on July 20, 2016I definitely have more fat quarters. I like to see a little bit more of the fabric, I guess! I love them so much that I hesitate to cut into them; perhaps that’s why I use up the jelly rolls and layer cakes right away and the fat quarters stay around longer.

—Juanita Woodard on July 20, 2016I have plenty of fat quarters but I seem to have a growing stash of layer cakes.
