    —Karen L. on June 1, 2016
  • I love fat quarters & charms the most! Charm squares are so little & cute & tempting, especially since they are affordable! But fat quarters are larger pieces that I can do more with!! This would be a great book to help me figure out what to do with all the precuts I have!

—Debra Reber on June 1, 2016

  • I confess to being a fickle precut stasher – my love went from fat quarters, to charms, and currently to jelly rolls. Wonder what’s next… In any case, I love this book, and have lots of raw materials on hand for trying out a few of the patterns. Thank you!

—Margaret Lawrence on June 1, 2016

  • Fat quarters seem to have always been my friend, but I do like to use jelly rolls for quick strip projects. Thanks for the giveaway ~ this book looks awesome!

—Marie Eddins on June 1, 2016
  • I love the charm packs. Such a cute amount of each fabric and I usually use the whole charm so no leftovers.

    —Kathy h on June 1, 2016
  • I love them all! Jelly rolls are great because you get a glimpse of each fabric. Fat quarters do offer the most options. But charm packs let you have the most fabric in the least amount of space (excluding mini charm packs)!!

    —Janice on June 1, 2016
  • Love Layer Cakes…..they can be perfectly stacked and cut into strips using my newest ruler (Stripology Ruler) then with just a position change of the ruler and the cut layer cake, cut again to needed rectangles and/or squares required for the project…no fusing with removing selvage or lining up the fold….just a perfect square layer cake ready for cutting…

—Joan Nigrelli on June 1, 2016
  • I’m drawn to layer cakes and jelly rolls. I like that they include all the fabric choices in a coordinated set, and are so versatile to use in many ways. Also the cost for them is usually reasonable, especially when on sale. I would love to win this book–thank you for the chance.

—Susan LElack on June 1, 2016

—Anne Manly on June 1, 2016
  • I am addicted to jelly rolls. There is just no limit to the places you can use them. And they are so pretty on your shelf waiting to be used. I also usually by a charm pack or two to match when available — just in case. Love Moda!

—Jean McClelland on June 1, 2016
  • I love all the precuts. It did start with charm packs as that way I could see all the fabric line of the season. Then my purchasing bloomed to all sizes of precuts depending on what I wanted to make; charms for community service baby quilts. For larger quilts fat quarter sets are wonderful. The new Moda book is inspiring.

    —Marilynn on June 1, 2016
  • Hi love charms 5″ + Mini’s !
    Thanks again!

    —Linda on June 1, 2016
  • I’m currently making a quilt with charm squares and a jelly roll. But fat quarter bundles really call the loudest. Thanks love the patterns in this book.

    —Linda W on June 1, 2016
  • Choose one? Are you kidding? I have a very large collection of each type of pre-cut in my stash! And the patterns marked in the books in my library for the quilts I want to make ‘someday’. But I see several quilts in this book that will be high on my project list.

    —Connie S. on June 1, 2016
  • Fat quarters

—Diann Smith on June 1, 2016
  • Love charm squares. Would like to work with layer cakes and jelly rolls.

—Roz Agulnik on June 1, 2016
  • My favorite pre-cut is a Fat Quarter. It gives me lots of selection when I buy a bundle or even select a few.

—Edith Gorzo on June 1, 2016
  • I have quite a few jelly rolls but I prefer layer cakes. They’re more versatile in my opinion.

—Heather Miller on June 1, 2016
  • I have traditionally just bought yardage, but have been faining a stah of FQs. I like the mini charms and layer cakes too, but I need to prewash fabrics and it is difficult with the small precuts.

    —Susan on June 1, 2016
  • Layer Cakes are my very favorite pre-cuts. Thanks for the chance at the free book!

—Debbie Holley on June 1, 2016
  • This new book is absolutely stunning! Thank you for the opportunity to perhaps own it! All precuts have proven to be extremely versatile, but as a favorite I would have to choose the Layer Cakes. There are so many options to cut with, and very little waste. Precuts have made quilting even more creative than ever, with less time cutting. The book is a wonderful collaboration!

—Linda Mitchell on June 1, 2016
  • Love them all! WOF strips I find most versatile. I use 2.5 inch binding, so all my leftover binding strips go into a pile for charity "slam" quilts, or big block log cabin, rail fence, the list goes on and on…..

—Rhona Thomson on June 1, 2016
  • I love the precuts because they offer so much variety in a single package. I would have to say charms and jelly rolls are a large part of my stash. This book would offer so much inspiration as to new ways to use them.

    —Jane L on June 1, 2016
  • I like them all, but find myself always buying fat quarters when I go to lqs.

    —Ann L. on June 1, 2016
  • OK, time for the truth here; I am willing to quilt with any of them. I don’t play favorites. Having said that, my least favorite would be mini charms but they are too cute not to have a few around.

    —DebMac on June 1, 2016
  • ✂️ I haven’t tried any of them. I usually cut out my pieces. Would ❤️ to try though.

    —Connie on June 1, 2016
  • I love all of them from mini charms to FQs. I think I have a large stash of jelly rolls! I find that jelly rolls are very versatile. I like to have matching layer cakes and jelly rolls! If there is one or two prints that just have to join, I buy a yard of them as well.

    —Judi R on June 1, 2016
  • Originally, I was hooked on charm packs, but lately, the jelly roll has become my "go to" thing. They make it easy for me to put blocks together quickly, and since they are already 2-1/2 inches, they fit nicely between the blocks. Less cutting and more sewing time. I’ve never been a big fan of the "prep work" with any craft/sewing project. Just want to get to it and see the finished item.

—debra lee on June 1, 2016
  • I love jelly rolls. It is such an adventure opening them up and seeing the beautiful colors emerge.

    Kathy on June 1, 2016
  • Fat quarters are my weakness. I can’t stop at a quilt shop without picking up at least one for my stash.

    —Jane on June 1, 2016
  • I always try to go for the fat quarter bundles if it’s in my budget. The other pre-cut sizes just aren’t enough! Looks like an awesome book–I love anything scrappy!

—Karen in Breezy Point on June 1, 2016
  • I use jelly rolls, charm packs, and layer cakes most often. I love the quilts in this book–a couple of them got my mind a-whirlin’ on what to do with a stack of 210 5-inch squares of pansy fabric, all from my stash.

—Jill Ellis on June 1, 2016
  • I love fat quarters. Jelly rolls are a close second because I am determined to make all the quilts in Kim Brackett’s Scrap Basket books.

—Katherine Grimsdale on June 1, 2016
  • I would think fat quarters – they are more versatile. However, I haven’t used the others much – I probably should, though!

    —Kathie R on June 1, 2016
  • I like the charm packs. This book looks wonderful & I especially love the "Housewarming" quilt.

    —Rose on June 1, 2016
  • Jelly rolls followed by layer cakes. Thanks!

—jackie norwood on June 1, 2016

—Diana Salmon on June 1, 2016
  • I do love the charm squares, well, I love layer cakes, fat quarters, Oh you know, I love them all! I’d love to win.

    —Dee W on June 1, 2016
  • Love all the precuts. Started with the fat quarters and still love. Love working with Jelly Rolls, but find the charm packs are easiest to just purchase when I don’t have a project in mind.

    —Terri S on June 1, 2016
  • I love fat quarters. I find I can add to my stash easily and without a specific project in mind. When I’m ready to do something scrappy I have lots to choose from!

    —Pat on June 1, 2016
  • I think fat quarters are my favorite, because with a large scale fabric, you can see the most of the pattern. But really, fabric in any form is wonderful…and pre-cuts are so convenient!

    Lisa on June 1, 2016
  • I love fat quarters and jelly rolls. Many times I add in some of my scraps in the jelly rolls to make it even more scrappy.

    —Dianne on June 1, 2016
  • I think I like jelly rolls the best as the fabrics are already gathered and coordinated

    —Rose on June 1, 2016
  • I love doing scrappy because it means I can use some of the great scraps I have. I first was introduced to quilting with fat quarters and find I still gravitate to them when I visit a quilt shop. I have discovered layer cakes to be very very useful and versatile as well.

    —Sue on June 1, 2016
  • It would be hard for me to pick – I love them all. I have collected so many Jelly rolls and Charm Packs and Layer Cakes and now I really must start to use them. This book might be the answer!

—Brenda Cornell on June 1, 2016
  • I think I like the jellyroll the best – so many patterns available for them! I really don’t like the cutting part of quilting so precuts are perfect for me 🙂

—Laurie Becker on June 1, 2016
  • Jelly rolls are my favorite! They are versatile, easy to use and less cutting for me. Beautiful quilts!

    —Kay on June 1, 2016
  • Fat quarters

—Pam Mildren on June 1, 2016
  • Like many of the other comments, I love layer cakes the best. You get the variety that precuts provide in a piece of fabric large enough to be cut many ways.

  • I love fat quarters. I have certain colors I am collecting for future quilts and I take them home and put them in a basket. When I am pretty sure I have enough I start planning the quilt top.I really love some of theses quilts and will probably buy the book if I don’t win.

  • Layer Cakes and Jelly Rolls call to me more that the Fat Quarters or the Charm packs simply because I’ve gotten to the point that I really love the versatility of them. The Layer Cakes can be cut into 4 Charm Packs and the Jelly Rolls can be cut into an almost infinite number of Mini Charms (2 1/2″ squares.) I love them and collected more than I can probably use in my life time but I just keep collecting them! It is an addiction! The way I look at it–the more I collect now, the longer I will have to live to use up my stash.

—Barb Bobbitt on June 1, 2016
  • I love Fat Quarters but I have to say my favorite so far is the CHARM PACKS. So many to choice from, all the pretty colors, everything about them is just so pretty. But I must admit that I have been buying fabrics for years, not really knowing what I was going to do with all that "pretty" fabric. At the age of 50, my good friend and quilt maker, said to me, "Well you have always wanted to make a quilt, why not start learning to quilt now?" And that was all it took! Now I am hooked on quilting.
I just love the patterns in this new book. Hope luck is on my side this time…………….:)

—Beverly Burton on June 1, 2016
  • I lean more towards charms and jelly rolls – I usually try to get a combination of the two for a quilt.

    —Monika on June 1, 2016
  • My favorite is 2 1/2″ strips. I love the variety in the bundle and amazed how easy they are to use.

—Fran Claassens on June 1, 2016
  • I’m nuts about Jelly Rolls and MSQC Daily Deal on them. I have a whole bin full and no idea what I was going to do with them until now!

—Vickie Keith on June 1, 2016
  • It is fat quarters for me too. It is a matter of more bang for my buck, I do believe. If some jelly rolls fell into my lap, I would surely keep them, however. Or, charms, or honey buns, or just about anything because I mostly cut my own.

    Donna on June 1, 2016
  • Jelly Rolls – love using them for projects

—Kathy Luehrs on June 1, 2016
  • I love fabric but tend to buy lots of FQ’s. You get a large enough piece of fabric to make most any block you want and then some to go into your scrap bend, lol.

    —Betty K on June 1, 2016
  • I am drawn to fat quarters because I can do the most with them.

—Jill Hicks on June 1, 2016
  • FQ call my name and I save all scraps so I certainly need this book! I see some quilts that I really like!

    —Gloria on June 1, 2016
  • I’m in a lonely minority…no pre-cuts for me! I buy yardage that I love and end up with scraps the old-fashioned way when I complete a project. I like the adventure of creating my own color combinations, not using one that’s pre-packaged.

    —Bette on June 1, 2016
  • Love them all! Easy to cut and a great way to enhance your stash with out buying fats of everything. I also love being able to buy pre-cuts and instantly have a color coordinated quilt!

—Sheri Bennett on June 1, 2016
  • I like fat quarters best. You can get the most versatile cuts with them, giving you more choice of patterns.

    —Janet T on June 1, 2016
  • Fat quarters give me the most options – I can cut any shape from them. And they are large enough to use a little and hoard the rest.

    —Sally on June 1, 2016
  • Fat quarters are my favorite pre-cuts. They are a great size to have an assortment of colors and work well when I do my applique. I do like the other pre-cuts, too, but the fat quarters are my favorite.

    —Vicki on June 1, 2016
  • From looking at my sewing space, it appears I have a thing for fat quarters and layer cakes! Of course, those large scraps could be charm packs eventually. Looks like a great book.

  • I seem to collect fat quarters the most. They are my go-to for most things I create. Thanks for the give away!! I really love the house quilt.

—Debbie Wallace on June 1, 2016
  • Fat quarters. They have the best in visibility for what the range of fabric looks like, are more adaptable to different patterns.

    —Kathy on June 1, 2016
  • There’s not a piece of fabric in my stash that I don’t consider pre-cut. No matter what the size, its scrap from all my quilting projects — there are boxes of sorted strips, boxes of cut squares (1-1/2″ to 6 inch), fat quarters galore and pieces cut from 1/4 yard to 2 yard pieces and then larger for backings. Because I am a scrappy quilter I save all the leftover pieces of bindings from finished quilts and join them together to make bindings for other quilts. If the pieces are too small (less than 1-1/2″) they go into a bag to stuff dog beds or pillows for the domestic abuse shelter. Nothing goes to waste in my sewing room.

    —Sue F on June 1, 2016
  • I love Batik, especially purple! I usually prewash fabric.

—Cindy Snipes on June 1, 2016
  • Love Jelly Rolls, & anything else I can think of!! because you can do so much with them!!! From log cabin quilts to a scrappy strip quilt

Deb Givens on June 1, 2016
  • My most useful precut is the 10″ layer cakes. I can cut them down to so many different sizes and shapes, and each one is enough for at least one block, maybe two! Second on the list are the Jelly Rolls. Why should I buy a precut pack of 2.5″ squares when I can cut my own; or if I need a 2.5″ by any other measure I can cut those too.

Thanks for offering this book. It looks like a wonderful collaboration.

—Sally Atkinson on June 1, 2016
  • The first quilt top I made was with a jelly-roll.
I have had a partiality for them ever since.

  • Lately, I’ve been enjoying using jelly rolls! Nice book — hope I win!

    —Estie on June 1, 2016
  • Layer cakes. I love this book, especially the scraps of wisdom and how each quilter has their own preferences for size and color in their scraps. I think I saw that on Amy Smart’s blog and then couldn’t remember what the book was. I’m getting it by win or otherwise. I’ve been collecting more precuts lately so love it for that as well.

—Karen Falvey on June 1, 2016

I love all the precuts, but will admit I have a lot of FQs- as well as many charms (cut from my scraps left over from projects).

—Sally Bean on June 1, 2016
  • Jelly rolls call me by name when I enter a store, but I have a hard time using them because I hate to open them. Fat quarters I can buy and use with no problems. (Except I have way too many of them.)

—Nancy McFall on June 1, 2016
  • I think I love to work with fat quarters the most because the leave me with the most scraps. I love scrappy!

    —Jennifer on June 1, 2016
  • I prefer fat quarters because I never know what size pieces I will need, and I hate to "run" out of a fabric that I fall in love with. When you have charms, they are nice and all, but there are always fabrics in the collection that do not really appeal to you, or you have duplicates of those you like the least. I do nothing but scrappy quilts, and this book looks fun.

—Sheri Klouda on June 1, 2016
  • You’ll laugh but they all call me! The most would be fat quarters since I can get lots of cuts out of them! But seriously…they really ALL do.

—Kristie Michalowski on June 1, 2016
  • Gosh, it is hard to choose from the different precuts. They have certainly made it so much easier to have these cuts ready to go, but my favorite would be the jellyrolls. Mainly cause i can tear it apart, cut it up and not gain a pound!!!

    —Kimberly P on June 1, 2016
  • While they all call out to me, fat quarter call the loudest given their versatility.

    —K Yee on June 1, 2016
  • I like fat quarters best but jelly rolls are also handy. Fat quarters give me options especially if I haven’t planned to use them in a specific pattern.

    —Carol C on June 1, 2016

  • I love fat quarters – so much more fabric to love!!

Susan the Farm Quilter on June 1, 2016

  • Love Jelly Rolls – quick easy quilts; Love the Skinny rolls ie all one color generally black or white (1.5″) great for sashing and narrow borders; Love Layer Cakes especially when paired with solid color Layer Cakes to make half squared triangles; Charm packs are also great. I have been using the precuts a lot more in quilting – I call it the Jenny Doan effect. Thanks for the op to win the new book.

    —sharon l-s on June 1, 2016

I have, however, started to use charms in some of the scrappy 6 1/2″ blocks I’m working on for a couple of different quilts. Not even a dent has been made in my charm collections, yet, tho! Lol!

  • Fat quarters are so versatile. I also like to cut my own jelly rolls when I buy yardage.

    —Susan on June 1, 2016
  • I really love fat quarters, but I can’t afford all of the bundles I want. My next go-to is a layer cake — big enough pieces of fabric to really sample and use at not such a big price. But I must have a greater fondness for charm packs than I realized. I happened to take inventory this morning (I’ve been saving them for some special at-this-point-unknown project) and I have five of those kind of small–but not too small–flat rate shipping boxes I’ve recycled that are full of charm square packs. And there are a few more packs floating here or there that I bought for a particular purpose. I’m a little afraid to count the actual packs, take that number times an average of 40 or so charms per pack, and find out how many charms I really do have. I really need this book, I think. I especially could use those expert tips! (And since we’re only talking pre-cuts I don’t have to think about my ‘real’ scraps.

    —Brenda on June 1, 2016

    —Karen H on June 1, 2016
  • There’s just something about the Jelly Roll and it’s perfect whirl of colour that draws me in every time.
Bringing them home and putting them on a little bench where you can pet them as you walk past, or imagine what they could be once sewn into a quilt, but, how can you bear to use them? They’re so pretty sitting there. Mini wonders, works of Art.
That moment of indecision as you’re about to undo the encircling ribbon "isn’t there anything else I could use???" But once you harden your heart and push through the doubt, the glory of the unfurling strips of fabric….. Bliss!

—Kayt Deans on June 1, 2016

    —Melissa E on June 1, 2016
  • Oh gosh, I love them all; however, if I need to narrow it down a bit, I probably love fat quarters the best, but charms and jelly rolls are right on the doorstep!

    —Janet on June 1, 2016
  • I tend to buy FQs because they can be used for just about anything.

    —Dani F on June 1, 2016
  • Fat Quarter bundles are my favorites, although I cant afford what Id really like to buy in them, so most of the time I get charm packs or once in a great while I get a jelly roll or a layer cake. but I love fabric of all cuts..Thanks for the chance to win.

—Debra Ingle on June 1, 2016
  • Jelly Rolls used to call out to me. Maybe it was the fun shape and seeing the colors all wrapped around each other. But then I discovered fat quarters and could cut any shape I wanted from the larger piece. Who knows, maybe I fall for another pre-cut next month! For now, it’s fat quarters…love them!

    —Kathy E. on June 1, 2016
  • It’s a toss-up between jelly rolls and fat quarters! I like to combine different blocks within a quilt so often need pieces larger than 2 1/2 inches. Scrappy quilts are my favorite so would love to win the Scraps Made Simple book.

    —Vicki on June 1, 2016
  • My CURRENT favorite is the Jelly Roll. Fat Quarters were my FORMER favorite. And I’m sure when I see a gorgeous quilt made with layer cakes or charm packs… THEY will become my new favorite!!! I love ’em all! They all have their special place depending on what pattern/design/colours have caught my eye most recently!

    —janG on June 1, 2016
  • I often get drawn to charms; after all what a great way to get all sorts of new fabrics which can be turned into lots of HSTs for fun things! FQs are great but buying a whole bundle is an investment these days that I can’t buy on just a whim.

—Pamela Reim on June 1, 2016

  • I use Fat Quarters the most of all the pre-cuts. they give me flexibility for different size pieces.

—Maureen Haynes on June 1, 2016
  • I currently have at least 40 charm packs in my stash. I typically only purchase one or two alike with the hopes of adding a background fabric to have enough fabric for a quilt. I also use the charms for my applique designs. Obviously, this makes charm packs the loudest of all the precuts.

    —JaniceCarole on June 1, 2016
  • I probably use FQs the most because I then have a little fabric left over for future projects. I use charms when I want to make something quick for gifts.

    —C. Kowalsky on June 1, 2016
  • Personally I’m drawn to layer cakes because the size allows for the most versatility.

    —Julia S on June 1, 2016
  • I have made quilts with the layer cake and enjoyed the look and ease of putting them together Thar would be my favorite right now.
    Thank you

    —LYNNE on June 1, 2016
  • I’m addicted to fat quarters! I’ve been learning to quilt by making fabric boxes. Soon every friend I know will have one. Two coordinated fat quarters—but I can spend forever just making my selections!

—Diane Falconer on June 1, 2016
  • Jelly rolls used to be my favorite precut, now it’s layer cakes. I can cut them into so many shapes and the variety is there. Looking at my sewing room, I have to say I seem to collect charm packs. I’ve never taken one apart to use.

—Nancy Hilderbrand on June 2, 2016

Jeanette Jensen on June 2, 2016
  • Precuts at my house come from scraps that I collect-I happen to have to be the one to cut them. Then they wait until I find something to do with them-so they are bona fide "pre-cuts".

—Bev Gunn on June 2, 2016
  • I love fat quarters as they are so versatile. I use them for quilting, small gift projects and trims and pockets for garments. Love the look of this book x

—Claire Ross on June 2, 2016
  • Fat quarters are definitely the most versatile cut of fabric. I just need to know what to cut them into! The creative ladies of scrapdom you’ve listed here can certainly help with that!

    —Summer on June 2, 2016
  • Fat quarters are the only precuts that i have actually bought. All my scraps are "leftovers", and it is always a challenge to find a new use for them.

—Rivka Hamdani on June 2, 2016
  • I love them all but I seem to get the most use out of fat quarters. I can get a wide variety of fabrics without the commitment of yardage, and the fat quarters can become jelly rolls, charms, or layer cakes if I need them to. Anyway, I have lots of all of those things to use up, so I’d sure love to have that book!

    —Susie on June 2, 2016

—Jette Joergensen on June 2, 2016

    —Jean on June 2, 2016

I would love to win this book since it is on my wish list. I love scrappy quilts. Maybe that is because that is the kind I have slept under all of my 73 years.

    —Nancy A on June 3, 2016
  • CHARMS! I’ve learned that I can make more quilts if I make them smaller – and charms are not only ‘right-sized’, but less expensive – giving me lots of color to play with. They work wonderfully for EPP also, since I am now making wall or ‘picture’ quilts no more than 60 x 60. It allows me to get much more intricate with design and color – on a limited budget.

    —LINDA on June 3, 2016

    —Mary Lou T. on June 3, 2016
  • I think I am quite evenly divided between layer cakes and charm packs. If I have to chose one, I would say layer cakes because I can get 4 groups of charms from one of them. Love getting a little bit of the whole fabric line when buying precuts.

    —Nancy on June 3, 2016
  • Layer cakes! Layer give me the most flexibility when using it in a class or project. It’s just enough to give a little "zing" to my tired stash and large enough to cut and add to a couple of blocks.

  • I consider myself to still be in the beginning stages of becoming a quilter. It is hard to select a favorite pre-cut because I have enjoyed using each type for different reasons. I guess I have to choose jelly rolls because I loved the look of the finished quilts and using different jelly rolls they looked completely different.

—Mary Ann McG on June 3, 2016

—Sandy Curtis on June 3, 2016

  • Fat quarters are my favorite with layer cakes close behind.

  • If stash amount indicates favorite, I think charm packs win without a doubt. Fat quarters are a strong contender. Just started collecting layer cakes and jelly rolls. Now, I just have to use some of them! I love scrappy, so perhaps the book would give me the push I need to use some of the collection!

  • I love fat quarters! They are so versatile and I have big enough pieces to make them shine in my quilts. Thanks for the chance to win!

  • I have not used precuts very much because I am using up stash of my own and what’s been given to me. However, when I buy something in a line of fabrics it is usually fat quarters or jelly rolls. Love this scrap book!

  • My vote goes to Layer Cakes. Nice big pieces of fabric or turn them into 4 Charm Packs!

  • Funny, I hadn’t thought of FQ’s as precuts, I started out quilting buying them like crazy and could get so many options, however; most recently I’ve had fun with layer cakes and and want to do more projects with them. PS, little houses project is my favorite. thanks.

  • I LIKE THEM ALL BUT DEPENDING ON THE PROJECT AND HAVING TO PICK ONE, I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THE FAT QUARTERS FOR MORE VARIETY FOR PROJECT.

—yvonne Idzenga on June 6, 2016
  • I crave them all but I would have to say Jelly Rolls are my favorite!!
