Join our amigurumi crochet-along! (+ prizes)

Projects from Amigurumi WorldDear Stitch This! readers: you are cordially invited to participate in the very first Martingale crochet-along.

Are you excited? We are!

We’re hosting this inaugural crochet-along on our Ravelry group page, and we want you to come join the fun. We’ve chosen amigurumi as our theme, and we’ll be celebrating with prizes, photos, and a weekend sale to kick off the party!

Here are the details:

What: An amigurumi crochet-along with Martingale! Pick an amigurumi pattern (or two, or three) from any of Ana Paula Rimoli’s books, listed below.

When: The crochet-along begins TODAY and you have until Friday, May 24, to post a photo of your completed crochet animals or characters in our group on Ravelry.

Where: We’ve posted a special thread in our Ravelry group where you can post photos of your completed project. Post a photo to the thread by Friday, May 24, and you’ll be entered in a random drawing for one free eBook of your choice. We’ll also be giving away a free eBook to the participant who is the first to finish and post a photo of their completed project. How fast can you stitch your critter?

Here’s a thread where you can ask questions and post progress photos. It’s a party, of course, so come, socialize, and have a good time. However, since this party is being hosted online, it will be BYOS—bring your own snacks!

If you’re not yet a member of Ravelry, sign up for free here.

Don’t own any of Ana’s books yet? This weekend, to kick off our first fabulous crochet-along, we’re offering 30% off on all four of her amigurumi books through Monday, April 22. You can choose any pattern from these books to participate in the crochet-along and be eligible for prizes. And remember, when you buy the book on ShopMartingale.com, you get the eBook version for free right away. That’s the fastest way to get stitching and have a shot at winning the eBook prize for first finished project in our crochet-along!

Amigurumi books from Ana Paula Rimoli

Before you speed off to start working on your amigurumi of choice, here are a couple of rules to keep in mind:

  1. To be eligible for prizes, you must post your photo in the finished projects thread in our Ravelry group. Your post has to be dated on or before Friday, May 24.
  2. Only finished projects from patterns in Amigurumi On the Go, Amigurumi Toy Box, Amigurumi World, or Amigurumi Two! by Ana Paula Rimoli are eligible for prizes.
  3. Have fun! We’ll notify you by email after May 24 if you’ve won a prize. Good luck.

Not sure yet which project to make? Below you’ll find a gallery of some of the patterns you can choose from. Of course, if it’s hard to choose, you could always make more than one project for multiple entries (hint!) to our crochet-along giveaway.

Ready? Set? Go!

  • I can not crochet, but these are adorable

  • All of these are so cute. I would start with the lion and probably work my way through the entire zoo. But, it seems I must buy the book before I can participate. Hmmmm… will have to think about that. I’m busy right now making a little boy a sweater with a lion on it, so my needles are busy.

  • I love these books and learnt to crochet from amigurumi world. I’ve made lots from the books already and have plenty of projects on the go already. But how can i resist, especially when I’ve been wanting to do the monkeys for ages!

  • They are all so cute; but I think I’m partial to the lion.

  • I plan to make the snail in the pear and the caterpillar in the apple. I’m in the middle of a big move right now, but will try for at least these two projects. Can’t wait to see how they turn out.

  • I already own 3 of her 4 books, but haven’t made anything yet. I guess I’ll ask the kids to see which one they want.
