Ready or not, welcome to the holidays: the season is officially in full swing! Decorating for the holidays can warm the home and delight those in it. Whether you like to keep things simple or go for grandeur, most quilters and stitchers have a collection of decorations they display year after year. Which brings us to this week’s question:

When you hear the phrase “holiday decorations,” what’s the first picture that pops into your head?

Post your answer in the comments before noon (PST) on Monday, December 3, for your chance to win. The winning comment will be posted on Wednesday, December 5, along with the next question.

Last week’s question was, “Looking back on 2012, what person, place, or event are you most thankful for?” Here’s the winning response:

“In 1973 I donated a kidney to my dad after he had total renal failure. In 2011, my remaining kidney began to fail, and by May of 2012, I was close to renal failure myself. On May 12, 2012, I received a call from Baylor All Saints Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas, saying a kidney was available for transplant. The transplant was done on May 13, and I have made a miraculous recovery. I am so grateful to the family of the donor who, in the middle of their grief at his sudden death, could find it in their hearts to agree to donate his organs. I thank God every day for this second chance at life.”

Last week’s winning comment was written by Estela. Congratulations, Estela—look for an email about how to get your free eBook.
