Martingale's Quirky Question

Thanks for stopping by for the weekly Quirky Question—where questions are just for fun, your answers are always welcome, and you could win an eBook for free!

I Feel Like a Witch quiltRight: “I Feel Like a Witch” from Out of the Box by Mary Lou Weidman (only $6.00 for the eBook through November 3). See a slideshow of quilts from the book below.

Rotary-cutting mishaps. Major miscalculations. Insufficient fabric. Christmas Eve! Most of the time we all have a ball, but sometimes, quilting can turn terrifying. With Halloween looming, we invite you to share your most frightening quilt story:

What’s the scariest thing that’s ever happened to you—as a quilter?

Post your answer in the comments before noon (PST) on Monday, November 4, for your chance to win. The winning answer will be posted on Wednesday, November 6, along with the next question.

Last week’s Quirky Question was, “What does it mean to you when you say ‘I’m a quilter’?" Here’s the winning comment, from Kathy:

“I think quilting began out of thrift and necessity but has evolved into an art form. Today, to be called a quilter means that you sew with your heart and soul. A quilt evolves during its creation. The time it takes to make a quilt is an asset to the finished product. Throughout the process, a quilt can be modified in countless ways. Call me a quilter and I will thank you because you are calling me a person who will stop to notice and appreciate details and who will create things of beauty that few would dare to attempt.”

Congratulations, Kathy—look for an email about your free eBook.
