A peek at Spring Quilt Market, Kansas City 2012

I’ve always enjoyed Spring Quilt Market because it gives me an opportunity to travel and see different parts of our beautiful country. Last weekend we were fortunate to travel from Seattle to warm, sunny Kansas City, Missouri. We began another Quilt Market experience the same way we’ve started all the others—with the arrival of our crate and a pallet loaded with books. Time for booth set up!

We transformed our four empty booths into a welcome area full of books, displays, authors, quilts, demos, book-signings, shop owners, and busy employees.

We did find time to have a little fun in the midst of our days at Market.

One night after the show, we were able to leave Kansas City for a relaxing evening at author Donna Lynn Thomas’ home. Thank you, Donna, for a wonderful dinner and an opportunity to enjoy some down time together!

Our booth stayed busy! Everybody enjoyed our authors’ beautiful quilts, along with our books and table displays.

Sunday at 4:00 p.m., Spring Market was officially over—but not for us! Booth tear-down was just beginning. Those of us left behind to pack worked for another four hours to transform our beautiful, vibrant booth back into four empty spaces. At the end of a long day our crate was full again, ready to be shipped home to Seattle.

We’re back from another successful trip to Quilt Market. It was a wonderful show—both authors and shop owners were happy, and that’s always our goal. Now that we’re home processing all that we learned, our employees continue to be busy. Now, if only my muscles weren’t so tired and sore…

As Dorothy said in The Wizard of Oz, “There’s no place like home.”
