I have just gotten the "little quilt bug" and I have only made a few. So far, I am just enjoying the process but with these little ones, I get to enjoy the product almost right away. I have a place at the foot of the stairs where I can rotate my small treasures and I hope to make several seasonal themed quilts this year. One thing is for sure, making small quilts is NOT depleting my stash at very fast rate–when the entire quilt itself is barely bigger than a fat quarter, that hardly puts a dent in the scrap collection!
—Michelle Harrison on February 14, 2013I haven’t made a little to quilt to keep yet; it’s on my Bucket List!
—Lauren aka Giddy99 on February 14, 2013What a fabulous book. I love small quilts because they are quick to make and are instant gratification to quilt.
My story is that last night for the first time in over 2 months I was able to rotary cut 2 1/2″ strips. I broke my right wrist the first part of December and it has been a long climb back. I’m not there yet, but it is a start!

—Sue Bennett on February 14, 2013I love little quilts I have them hanging in every room. I use them on tables. I had my husband make a doll bed to display my quilts. I believe they should be out where everyone can enjoy them, and my Granddaughters enjoy playing with them with their dolls sometimes the whole living floor is covered with dollies having a sleep over.
—Margo Spack on February 14, 2013I love the patterns in this book! I am drawn to small quilts because of the sense of accomplishment I feel when I have finished one! These never become UFOs! —Emily C on February 14, 2013I just started making small quilts and they’re fun! My intention is to hand quilt each one in order to get better at hand quilting. There’s a doll bed stored in our attic that’s going to get a new paint job, and eventually a nice pile of little quilts. Someday I’ll have a granddaughter and she’ll have fun discovering the little quilts.
—Celeste on February 14, 2013So far, I have only made one small quilt, the Hexagon Flowers Doll Quilt from Kathleen Tracey’s "The Civil War Sewing Circle", I loved every minute of making it. Barbara Cissne
—Barbara Cissne on February 14, 2013Small quilts give me the luxury of piecing a new design, quilting and binding it and enjoying my creativity…fast! My small quilts are enjoyed on end tables, sewing room walls, and throughout my house. I enjoy creating themes for different seasons and holidays. It makes my house my home and my sons and husband have commented on how they like seeing my quilts being displayed and used.
—Cindy Yoakum on February 14, 2013The first small quilt I made was to be a baby quilt. I was on bedrest while pregnant and was bored stiff. Cut out the small squares, pieced them and then quilted it-all by hand. It really helped get me through a rough pregnancy. Needless to say I have that quilt, just couldn’t part with it after all that work and memories. The small ones I make now I keep some, give some to the Grandaughters and others go to Toys for Tots. This book looks so enticing!
—TonyaAnn on February 14, 2013Wonderful quilts! Small quilts mean fun to me. I can cover a large wall (open 2 story house) with little quilts. I’ve been displaying my little quilts so far on my breakfast table. Today a heart quilt is out for the holiday. Thanks for the book opportunity.

—Marianne on February 14, 2013My passion is making small quilts using civil war reproduction fabrics. I quilt all my quilts by hand and then I wash them to give them that lovely crinkly vintage look, which I love. They are displayed here there and everywhere throughout my home, on shelves with my vintage sewing machines & old toys, rolled up in vintage baskets & in a small vintage wheelbarrow & pull cart. Recently, I was inspired to create a wall of small quilts in the study, and lucky for me, there’s also an adjacent wall that’s crying out for small quilts. So, I best get back to doing what I love.. making small quilts!!
—marian on February 14, 2013This new house we just moved into has very high ceilings and very large walls to decorate. —Pam S on February 14, 2013Little quilts are wonderful! Today with our lives being so busy we can make things we love – to make our home a happy place – and to make others happy and bring smiles to one another. —Glenda Heath on February 14, 2013I am so much in love with little quilts. I have so many quilts running through my head that I want to make I would never have enough time to make them in my life time. Making little quilts helps me make a lot more and be able to decorate my house with them is such a pleasure and to give as gifts is so much fun! I don’t have a lot of wall space and beds to put quilts on so I can tuck a little quilt just about anywhere I want to give that lovely homespun look! This book would be a great thing to help me achieve my goals as a lover of little quilts.
—Karen Schultz on February 14, 2013I absolutely LOVE small quilts. They are a perfect gift for friends and family. My home is decorated with country goodness and lots of little quilts. They are on the wall, table tops, framed, in my antique crib with the dolls and bears, and the ones that are not in season are displayed in a lovely hutch with glass doors. I use photos of my little quilts in a Vignette and make greeting cards.

Small quilts are a great way to add handmade comfort and color to a space, give a quilter an opportunity to play with a pattern or grouping of fabrics, and are fairly quick to finish. —Mary Jo Jones on February 14, 2013I have small quilts all over my house. On tops of tables. —Donna Rothacher on February 14, 2013As a newbie quilter without an awesome machine (and no option for a walking foot), I’ve really come to love making small quilts as gifts – mostly table runners. I also make small quilts for all the babies being born into the family.

They make a perfect gift when you need it quickly and are very charity friendly. And sometimes we just need the satisfaction of finishing a project!
—Diane on February 14, 2013This looks like a wonderful book! If the rest of the patterns are as beautiful as these I would have to say this is a must have. I am a new quilter and have only made one quilt so far. It is a small pumpkin wallhanging for the fall. It is not perfect but I love it and proudly hang it on my wall. Small quilts are perfect for beginners! They allow you to learn new techniques without the time and expense of larger quilts.
—Angelia L. on February 14, 2013Thank you!

—Joanna on February 14, 2013I make more small quilts than any other size and I use them everywhere imaginable; on tables and walls. I make really small ones and put them on the garden flag holders in the spring and summer outside in the garden. People are always commenting about how cute they look. Thanks for the chance to win a book, Martingale!!
—Clara Chandler on February 14, 2013I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. I pieced 7 small quilts and gave them to my siblings (and myself) at our family reunion, after I had everyone there to sign the back. I named and labled each one, I will be remembered long after I’m gone!

So I grab a couple I have made for place mats or table toppers, or tuck one in with a nice smelling liquid hand soap or a little tube of hand cream or bath gel. I can tuck them into a small gift bag and they peak out over the top which just adds to the nice way it looks when I give it away. You can never have enough little quilts.
—Pamela Zajicek on February 14, 2013The smallest I"ve made are baby snuggle quilts and lots of them over the years. I have been wanting to make ‘minis’ just so I can change them out for the seasons and have something to show in MY house that I’m a quilter
I tend to give everything away!
—Shelley C on February 14, 2013I have seen some dandy ideas in the pictures posted above….hope I win and can get into my scraps to complete something pretty.
This sounds like the perfect book to help me use the many scraps I’ve collected from all the quilting I do – not only for gifts to family and friends but also the many quilts I make for Lutheran World Relief. I just can’t bear to throw away the little pieces, so I’m trying to find great ways to create something new with them. Perhaps this will help!
—Ruth Hall on February 14, 2013I use them as "enlarged placemats" as well as hanging them on some narrow pieces of wall between doorways.
—Valerie Strickland on February 14, 2013Little quilts are such wonderful gifts. A doll quilt for the special little girl who needs a warm quilt for her precious baby doll or a special gift that says I love you to a friend for a small coffee table ior just a center piece for a large table. They just small keepsakes to tell them you love them. I also try new things I have a hard time doing out on the small quilts.

—Linda E in AZ on February 14, 2013thanks!

—Aileen on February 14, 2013I’ve recently became addicted to little quilts, so I have only made a few… Maybe one day I will have a wall of quilts!
—sandra on February 14, 2013Over the years I have made more large quilts than I’ll ever need, but I still have that drive to make quilts. So now, I make tiny quilts. Little miniatures, often replicas of my big quilts, delightful little gems of color that absolutely delight me. I tend to embellish them in ways that tend to be totally impractical for large quilts, but absolutely shine on a small ‘canvas’. Love ‘em. Will keep making them.
—Darcey Peters on February 14, 2013I love little quilts. They look great on a wall on on a table or on the back of a chair. I have one that hangs on the towel bar on an antique wash stand. They are fun and fast to make and really perk up a small space. One hangs in a bedroom with a full sized quilt to match on the bed.
—Ellie on February 14, 2013Little quilts here, there, and everywhere. I love little quilts and have since I was a child. My dear grandmother made little quilts for my dollies. Everyone of them stitched lovingly by hand! I still have all of them! Oh the memories they carry and the secrets they hold. Now I make my own little quilts to use on my tables, dressers, that little corner of the wall where nothing else will fit, for my own daughter when she was small. Little quilts decorate our motorhome rather well as large ones just won’t do. I would love to have a copy of this new book. —Linda Tillis on February 14, 2013Love the colors!!! the quilt designs are beautiful! Love to win!

—vickie van dyken on February 14, 2013I love making small quilts! They are perfect for experimenting with color and to practice my quilting skills. I have many displayed throughout my home. They add such a homey feeling. They are easy to store and don’t take up as much space as larger quilts.

—Inger Martinson on February 14, 2013Little quilts are so fun to make and I feel like I’ve achieved something. They are great for practicing quilting skills, whether by hand or machine. I hang them on walls, put them on nightstands, occasional tables, instead of doilies to put under vases etc, for dolls (of course), as a display with other interesting items and I’m making one for a sewing machine cover as well as one for the top of my washing machine to brighten up the laundry. Every one of the patterns you showed are stunning and I would have to make them all!
—Sandra B on February 14, 2013These little quilts are little jewels! I’d love to win the book!
—jane d on February 14, 2013What do I do with my little quilts? Lots! I use them as samples to see how patterns and colors go together, then they are used for table runners, placemats, wall hangings and gifts. I put different small quilts out each month to add color to our home too. I have quite an extensive collection of small quilts, but I am always looking for new ideas. This book would be great for me and for sharing my love of quilting with others.
—Adrienne on February 14, 2013I love little quilts ! They are all over my house in various places. It’s so easy to tuck a little one here and there and then switch them around periodically.
—Lynette on February 14, 2013I use little quilts all over the house as wall hangings, table toppers, placemats and even under the dish drain rack to soak up moisture (a really old one for that!). Little quilts are usually pretty quick, fun, and almost instant quilting gratification!
—Karen in Breezy Point on February 14, 2013I use them as table toppers. Thanks for the great giveaway! Looks like a great book!
—Sallie on February 14, 2013I love making small quilts…they actually get finished! I have some on the walls throughout my house, some are on tables, and dressers as runners. They’re great gifts and doll quilts. Our cat has several quilts, on the couch and the bed, to protect the big quilts from "cat stuff". This book looks wonderful and I really hope I win it, thanks for the opportunity.
—susan on February 14, 2013I use my small quilts as ‘art’ around my home. I hang them where I would normally hang a picture. I also use them as table toppers. This way I can change them regularly to suit my mood or decor.
—Pieta R on February 14, 2013I love to make small quilts. I hang them on the wall, I use them as table toppers and drape in baskets. Thanks for the chance to win this wonderful little book! Sandi

—Teresa on February 14, 2013Little quilts are fun to display — either on a stand or a wall! I’d love to try some of these patterns!

—Marty Askins on February 14, 2013I would use the small quilts to decorate my new home we just moved into after renting a home for 24 yrs, four daughters, their boyfriends and their children!
—Linda Jeter on February 14, 2013So now I have a new home, just hubby and me..and will decorate all these nice new clean walls!!
I don’t have any little quilts yet. I’ve only made quilts for beds. Seeing these little quilts makes me want to get busy on some little projects that I can use as a centerpiece on the kitchen table, a quilt to display on a chest or trunk, and little quilts to hang on the walls. There’s an old doll cradle in the attic that would be perfect for these small quilt projects in feed sack or Aunt Grace fabrics! I would be very happy if I could win this book. The hard part would be deciding which little quilt to make first.
—Yvonne on February 14, 2013I give them away….I have only three left of all the ones I made…I have three children, a niece and a nephew, and one great nephew…Lots of ideas for them…and great xmas and birthday gifts…

—Elizabeth McDonald on February 14, 2013When I first started making baby quilts, I made several that were too small. Everyone loved them and wanted them for wall hangings, and I have several in my home! I also wanted to try hexagon quilting, made a hexagon christmas wreath. I think little quilts are perfect for new techniques as I don’t get discouraged as I am learning. the project is complete before i realize it!
—Therese on February 14, 2013Love the little quilts.
I love little quilts, and I make lots of them, for different reasons. I make fabric postcards, ornaments, table toppers, runners, etc. My biggest undertaking with small quilts was making 40+ Christmas angel ornaments for friends attending the same party as me. Went home with none left, and when I visit those friends, I see my little 4″ square angels hanging everywhere. This book would work just fine in my library of quilting books.
—Ele W. on February 14, 2013`I just love little quilts. They are a great way to add color to our decor. Thanks for giving us all a chance to win the book. It looks awsome.
—Liza S. on February 14, 2013I love the mini’s, I recently won a beautiful little wooden doll bed and am trying to find some patterns I like and there are so many in this book that would look perfect on my little bed.
—Connie B on February 14, 2013I’ve made some small quilt that I display them on the cubicle walls in my office. I have one or two general ones, a fall one, and a couple Christmas ones. I switch them out as the seasons change, just to give me something different to look at. I plan to make a heart one for February, a green one for March, one with daffodils for April, etc. but I may end up retired before I get them all done!
—Barb Johnson on February 14, 2013I love small quits! I have so many plans for big quilts, but that seems to be all the farther I get with them (the plan) due to other time demands. Small quilts fit the bill for me! They are so cute and I don’t need to wonder if a small quilt will end up celebrating it’s 21st birthday in my UFO basket like one large quilt is right now. I love Andover fabrics, I have many of them in my stash and continue to find more that I just "have to have". You know the feeling??? To win the new book, "101 Fabulous Small Quilts" – from Martingale & Co would be a thrill! Carol in Mid-Mich
)
—Carol Garnaat on February 14, 2013I like using little quilts as table toppers, either on the dining table or on the antique truck that is used as our coffee table. Lay them diagonally to get a different look. A great way to use up small pieces.
—Carol on February 14, 2013I like to give them to my granddaughters to use with their dolls.
—Barb Jolly on February 14, 2013I would use a little quilt as a table topper in my dining room. Also, I have a granddaughter with dolls so that means little quilts for her dolls.
—Shirley C on February 14, 2013I save a few for myself and give the others to church bazaars, children in need and friends. Could use some more ideas on ones to make
—mary ann johnson on February 14, 2013I have been quilting for almost 30 years and I absoultely love to make small quilts! They are fun and satisfying to make and they are great for decorating. I have been collecting antique doll beds for a number of years and they sit on the hearth of my fireplace in the living room. Every month I "remake" the beds in seasonal quilts. Lately I have been given an antigue child’s wheelbarrow and I often drape or rolls my doll quilts inside this wheelbarrow for display. In addition I often will hang them in series of 5 or 7 as "wall art" throughout the year. So many uses for small quilts and they are often the first thing I make for a gift. Thanks for coming out with this inspriational book!
—carolyn barnett on February 14, 2013I love ‘little’ quilts. They let you try out different patterns to see if you like doing them without commiting to a large project. You can try out color combinations, new ideas, favorite blocks in a different setting etc. Most quilters love quilting books and patterns almost as much as we love fabric so a book with 101 pictures of different quilts would be very hard to pass up.
Alice
—Alice on February 14, 2013I use them on tables and as wall hangings. Of course they are perfect for dolls and teddy bears too.
—MoeWest on February 14, 2013I’ve shrunk small quilts to make bed quilts for a friend’s Barbie dolls, and enlarged them to provide warmth for a new baby – and I’ve just hung them on the wall. Who doesn’t like a project that can be finished! If I don’t win this book, I’ll have to buy it!
—Laurel Marsolais on February 14, 2013Wow! This book looks fabulous. It’s wonderful to see a book where I want to make every single quilt! Every small quilt I make has three uses…doll quilt, wall hanging, or table topper. I put a sleeve on all small quilts for hanging on the wall, but they look equally at home on a little doll cradle or on a small table. Thanks for the chance!
—Lesley on February 14, 2013I use them. They grace tables, walls and dollies. What they really are though, is an ending for concentration time or challenge needs. Working on small things helps me focus and keeps me mentally healthy.

—Susan Gray on February 14, 2013I love to put small quilts on table tops. They look so cute tucked in with holiday displays too. This book looks fabulous!
—Katherine on February 14, 2013For the really small quilts, I love using them to decorate our guest room, our coffee table and other little tables around the house. They make me smile! For ones that are wall-hanging size, I like to have seasonal ones that I can rotate throughout the year to decorate my house with. I think it gives a personal, "homey" touch. The Little Quilts book is AWESOME! Would love to make several that I see in the photos.
)
—Susan Mulvihill on February 14, 2013I like to showcase my little quilts by hanging them on the wall and decorate with them on my tables. I rotate my collection throughout the year.
—Marie in Boulder Creek, CA on February 14, 2013I love the challenge of finding "the right spot" for my little quilts. Being in a Jo Morton Club, I have many. I put them on tables, bookshelves, let them hang out of drawers, put on the wall, layer over large ones on the quilt racks and beds. Place them on the fireplace bricks. The opportunities are endless. Stack them for show and tell, etc. I would like some new patterns for doll quilts for a special little girl!
—Barbara on February 14, 2013I love small quilts. I use them as large coasters on a table. One is on my nightstand. One is under the computer. At Christmas I had one on the table with all the snack foods and I love to give them as gifts. One such gift to a male friend now hides the hole in the bathroom door.
—Nicky on February 14, 2013I have a new love for mini quilts just recently. They allow me to make a quilt quickly, try a new pattern and/or technique and get something finished for once (lol). I have started my own little gallery (excuse the pun) on a wall in my bedroom and may have to expand into another one soon – there are sooooo many patterns to make.

—Trudy Stubbs on February 14, 2013My quilts are usually bed or baby quilts. However, I’ve made two wallhangings. One is the cutest little birdhouse quilt which resides in the smallest room in the house. The other lives over the bed in the guest room; this quilt completes the room and gives it a warm and welcoming feeling.
—Kayt on February 14, 2013Ooohh!! Thanks so much for a terrific idea Barb Johnson

—Kayt on February 14, 2013I love making little quilts! I starting quilting when my 4 children were small and I felt like I only had time for small quilts. Now I am back teaching full time and I have less time to sew. Good thing I love making small quilts!
—Karen McMahon on February 14, 2013I haven’t gotten "little" yet – I tend to make very generous throws and bigger quilts for hunkering under – need to try my hand at some smaller quilts and new techniques in a less overwhelming size.
—Regina on February 14, 2013The small quilts I make are for my granddaughter and her friends for their American Girl dolls. I sew outfits for the dolls and save the leftover scraps to make the quilts. The girls love them and its a visual reminder that someone thinks they are special.
—Fran on February 14, 2013I have just been introduced to a small quilt group and am addicted. So easy to actually finish something! As for what I do with them, I told my husband that I think the object of quilting is to finish your quilt to take to guild or group meetings so your friends can admire! I would love to have this new book that everyone is talking about.
—Patti on February 14, 2013I love making little quilts. Maybe it’s because I need instant gratification, or maybe it’s just because they’re fun! I always give them away…I’ve never kept one for myself.
This looks like a really great book. Thank you for the chance to win it!
—Jane S. on February 14, 2013How timely a question! Just yesterday I sent off an attic window quilt to my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary! I had a large bird panel and it looks like you are looking out the window onto birds in the garden. I used a pretty border print that looks just like a picture frame. My folks both love birds and gardening so I hope they will be pleased with it. It measures about 2 feet square so hopefully it will look like a window when they hang it on the wall.
—Janine on February 14, 2013I use my little 12 inch quilts on my wire quilt stand. I have it in my livingroom and it looks so cute!

—Kerry on February 15, 2013Much quicker in the gratification area. Perfect for decorating and covering my little dolls beds with. Oh, don’t forget they look great on a wall as well.
My story is just beginning, in reference to the small quilts. After looking through all the beautiful pictures of the quilts, I look forward to beginning my own collection. It is my goal for the year to make a new "small" quilt for each month of the year to hang on the empty wall in our family room. Our oldest son left two years ago for his own home with his beautiful new bride and to become a proud member of the U.S. Army. I left the space emptied when he took a beautiful picture from the wall that he had brought home from a mission trip to Greece. It just never seemed right to fill the space. What better to put on that wall than soft, quilts, made with love!

They give the house a very warm, homey feeling.

Several of the featured quilts look like a great gift idea!

—Vickie on February 15, 2013I’ve only made one little quilt – I’m a newbie!
However, that quilt is hanging on my wall in my craft room and it serves as my inspiration… reminds me that I can do whatever I set my mind to, and it really reminds me that I do have some of my granny in me, even though she’s gone on to the next realm of existence.
—Shannon on February 15, 2013I love little quilts… what a way to try out a new color combination or new technique or to beta test a pattern I’m designing You’ll find these little guys on my kitchen and dining room tables, hanging from a slightly open buffet drawer. Hanging on the wall, adorning a small quilt rack, tucked into baskets or draped over a library table. My friends all love how I use the little guys all over our home.

—Mayme on February 15, 2013I need to make more litle quilts-they take up so litle room!
—Linny on February 15, 2013I just started making little quilts. You don’t need many quilts in the hot deserts in AZ. They are easy to finish and make great wall hangings. When the nieces covet them, I turn them into Christmas/birthday gifts and fill up the empty spot with a new design!
—Mary Tobias on February 15, 2013I have made small quilts to put on my end tables, night stands, coffee tables, sofa table, kitchen counter, hanging on the walls and most important of all giving to friens and family as gifts. What could be better.
—Rita Scott on February 15, 2013I haven’t been quilting long, and I want to see quick results for my work. Smaller quilts are fun to make and hang on a wall, or outside the front door where they brighten things up . I’d like to have a different one for each month, not necessarily seasonal, but just something to share with the neighbourhood. With this book I could have a different one each month for more than 8.5 years including those I’ve already made!!
—Cher Merriman on February 15, 2013I’ve only been quilting a year but I’ve already built a great stash! I want to use my fabrics and not leave them sitting on shelves. This book would be a wonderful way to bring lots of fabrics to life in little quilts. I want to decorate with little quilts and give them as gifts. I can try lots of ideas in less time and spread the beauty around with smaller quilts. Oh I sure would enjoy winning this book!
—Catherine P on February 15, 2013I donate them to my Guilds for their small quilt auction to raise money for charities. I’ve got one small UFO that has HST no larger than 3/4 quarters of an inch finished, making each pinwheel 1.5 inch square.
Keep smiling,
—Lynnita Shipman on February 15, 2013I have never made a small quilt and I don’t have any. Time for something new! Thanks for the opportunity.
—Mary on February 15, 2013What do I do with the small quilts I make.. They become art for my walls or baby quilts for others, like my nieces’ and nephews’ children. There are just way too many quilts to make that I am in love with.. this is a way to try out the designs without making a full size quilt. This book looks fabulous…
—Darrell Hardenburg on February 16, 2013I would live to make some little quilts to put in my craft room. TY!
—AbbyK on February 16, 2013I make them for a special candle mat, a wall hanging and even for a doll quilt.
—Rosalind Gutierrez on February 16, 2013I started loving small quilts while in a Jo Morton club. I have finished several, and have many more in progress. I am planning on ordering a copy of the book for my birthday present to myself this year (March) but to win one would be an even better present! Thank-you for putting such a great collection of quilts all into one book!

—MaryRose on February 16, 2013I make small holiday themed quilts as gifts for my family members or to decorated my home or office door. I work for a medical office management company. I have patients stop by my office to compliment me on my little quilts. They say how they look forward to seeing what is hanging on my door. I glad I can cheer up and brighten someone’s day when they are not feeling well.
—Julie B on February 16, 2013Little quilts are so much fun with abundant uses: wall hangings, table toppers, seasonal decor, etc. Plus, it’s an opportunity to try a new technique or use colors are fabrics you wouldn’t normally do because it’s a small and quick format. Thanks for the chance to win.
—Cindy on February 16, 2013Love using up my smaller bits of stash on these little quilts. They are quick and very rewarding. My frinds and family are always impressed at these small gems.
—Gwen on February 16, 2013I love small quilts for wallhangings, but I think my favorite are mug rugs!
—Nancy B from Many LA on February 16, 2013Being a grandma to my four young grandchildren who live in a remote area of Alaska is a challenge. Each month I send grandma boxes to them with special surprises based on a theme. Often I include a little quilt to go with the theme. My grandkids love these quilts because they are made by Grandma. The quilts may become table toppers for special occasions, used to snuggle under while watching a movie, claimed by someone to put on their bed, or may be laid out on the floor to be played on. Little quilts are a way to become part of my grandchildren’s lives while living so far apart.
—Susan E on February 16, 2013What a Fabulous Suprise. Little quilts are so much fun and such a variety. A must have book for any quilter.
—Susan on February 16, 2013I haven’t made a little quilt yet, but I like small projects because they are usually quicker and I can feel that I accomplished something.
—Cheryl Korman on February 16, 2013I have six granddaughters so I love making little quilts for their dolls so they can tuck them in each night safe and warm. Also the quilt guild I am in works along side a charity that gives new dolls to underprivledged young girls and we make and donate doll quilts to go along with their new dolls.
—Sarah on February 16, 2013The small quilts I make are mostly to pleasure myself. I can’t part from them. I like to see them every time.
—J. Louw on February 17, 2013Greetings, Joke
I love little quilts. They are my pictures on the wall that bright my home through out the year. I like a different one to celebrate each and every month. It is always fun to have a quilt completely made within a month too.
—Linda Christianson on February 17, 2013It is very exciting to see the collection of 101 small quilts. This will be a book to add to my wish list.
Small quilts are a great way to try a new technique without cutting up a lot of fabric. You can also try different color schemes (that don’t go with your decor but you think would be fun to try)without having to buy large pieces of fabric. They also give me the chance to do a little machine or hand quilting that I wouldn’t do on a large quilt. They also make excellent gifts. Our guild also has a small quilt silent auction at our quilt shows.
—Maureen Klebe on February 17, 2013I have always loved small quilts. It is fun to try out patterns and colors. The examples you have shown are precious. I can’t wait to see
—Pam L on February 17, 2013the others.
What do I do with a small quilt? Depends on the size. They can be wall hangings, table toppers, candle mats, doll house bed quilts. I also have used them to hang on the end of a book case. They can be quick and fun to make … and finish!
—Nancy on February 18, 2013I just love the patterns in this new book! I have made a couple small quilts! One was for a challenge from a quilt shop. I was given a piece of fabric and told to come up with something using it! I found a pattern and although it was about the size of a placemat, it was a small wall hanging for me. I usually use the small quilts as table toppers or lay on the back of a chair to display! Thanks for the opportunity to win this book!
—Jan staples on February 18, 2013Whatever I finish I give away, usually a Christmas gift and sometimes make them into banners for special dates, happy birthday, etc, and add length; about 1/3 is quiltlike on top and 2/3 sort of plain fabric added so people can sign banner for a keepsake momento for the recipient. It’s fun creating and giving away.
—Carol on February 18, 2013Carol
I hang them on the wall. Because they are small, I feel more free to experiment and my small quilts feel like little works of art, and heart.
—Beth T. on February 18, 2013My boys all joke around with me about the variety and the number of quilts I have hanging around the house. Whenever they come home from college they notice a new addition to my quilting "family". Then they say that it won’t be long before I’ll run out of wall space and I’ll have to start putting them on our ceiling.
—Colette DeGroot on February 19, 2013IF IF IF I keep one for myself, it might go on a wall or table topper. Usually I give my quilts as gifts.
—Deb on February 20, 2013Little quilts are such a joy!! I have made small quilts for my walls and to use as baby quilts, but the most fun one I made was a 30s reproduction print doll quilt for my daughter. She loved and named each one of her many dolls, and they still hold a special place in her heart and memories even though she is now a young adult. I hope to have grandbabies to make small quilts for someday, and this book would make that process even more fun!! Thanks for publishing this wonderful book with patterns from so many talented designers, and thanks for this giveaway!!
