About Mary Burns

Mary has always been a crafty sort and has been quilting since 1977. Dragging her boys to quilt shows since birth has paid off—she is blessed with a family that gives unwavering support to her quilting habit. She’s recently made several attempts at knitting, with sometimes hilarious results, and has also made baskets, hooked rugs, and crocheted afghans. Her latest passion is embroidery. With a background in advertising, she’s thrilled to be our Marketing Coordinator and loves being inspired by so much creativity every day. Somehow unable to not raise her hand when asked to volunteer, she has been a guild president, quilt show chairwoman, and contributor to many Martingale group projects. She has designed quilts for A Baker’s Dozen, Jelly Babies, and Quilting with Fat Quarters. In addition to having fun at the beach with her college-aged sons and cairn terrier Rufus, Mary enjoys gardening, antiquing, sports, movies, travel, and anything outdoors. She lives with her high-school-sweetheart husband in their restored 1901 farmhouse in Snohomish, Washington.
